Why did Lagi die?

I was watching some of the movies Team Andormeda did on PDS and realized that indeed he is right on this one, sure PDO is an excellant game, it still lacks the RPG style that PDS has. I do like PDO, honestly I do but PDS is somewhat better. Though it is nice to bring back the feeling of the original PD, the next game they make, I reckon should go back to RPG style, now with the high tech graphics, its bound to be better.

This coming from someone who has obviously never played PDS (or has never truly analyzed it). You should really play through PDS and see why it’s so raved about - look at the cinematography and the absolute godlike camera angles. Everything about PDS reeks of polish - the same cannot be said about Orta, and this is why it is hated so much. You can’t expect anyone, especially myself, to respect a game that went from absolute perfection to mediocrity - that’s asking too much.

PDS is the greatest game ever made, and that’s never going to change until there is a ‘proper’ sequel.
And you sound so much like someone that got into the series after all the hype about Saga, the jonny come laters
Let me tell you that Saga doesn’t hold a candle to the 1st game when it comes to art driection imo of coruse  , and to say Orta doesn’t look polished is complete and utter sh8t. When over 3 years after it 1st came it, its still looks one of the most impressive X-Box games and one of the few to run @ 60fps, never mind most of the levels with shooting perfection

And for thr last time ORTA is a shooter , not a RPG , its so unfair comparing a RPG to a Shooter . I guess you’re one of those thats hates PSO onthe DC becasue its story is lame copared to the Mega Drive and Master System versions  :P.

Granted I don’t think there was many that liked the 4th Ep Boss, I thought it was rather cool myself and reminded me of the Hindu/Buddhist gods
I quite liked the desgin , but I can appreciate why other?s might not

I didn’t like Orta not because it wasn’t an RPG (even though that did play a factor) but because the script was terrible, the art designs did not match the trilogy, and the music was quite stale this time around. Orta was an absolute disappointment, and it’s something I want to forget. The only thing that I thought was worthwhile in Orta was the awesome Encyclopedia…that’s it.
I think its playing a larger factor that you?re willing to admit ;):stuck_out_tongue:
The script was great with what the team had to work work with in my view. And as for Art I think you’re just so off the mark .
ORTA is the most beautiful game of last gen this side of O.TO.GI II, Orta her self looks stunning.

Ikrakav (Boss Ep 2) just and my jaw dropped the 1st time I saw it, more so on intricate detail of the bumpy surface used on it tentacles, it was a sight to behold , much like the beautiful waterfalls in that sage and how it distorted the enemies when you flew past them, never mind the stunning effects used on the river its self .
Yondo (those 2 huge worms) brought back so many happy memories of seeing the 2 huge worm creatures in EP 2 in the classic original .

Catharp (Boss Ep 3) is just a work on art, the motion on the creature is just a sheer spectacle to behold , and I also loved the way you flew into the bits of debris the huge creature kicked up, never mind the stunning cloud effects used in the this stage.

Then you have Pussa Bubo from EP 5, my fav creatures in the whole of the game (and give or take a few from the whole series) , with the most stunning skin bump mapping effect I?ve seen used on a X-Box game , the way the sun bounced off the creatures made my jaw hit the floor .

I just couldn?t fault the art used in ORTA
I liken it to the jump the DC had over the N64 and Saturn stuff, that?s how huge the leap in graphics and art in Orta was over anything else I seen @ the was for me .

Oh and the Ancient Weapon boss music , is one of the best pices of music score I?ve ever heard in my life , people must think I?m nuts when I blast that in the Car or on the Hi-Fi , but its one of the most catchiest tunes ever and ones of tunes that you can?t get out of your head

Ok well I just watched the ENTIRE section of Team Adromanda’s or whatever ya name is clips on PDS. Ok well though it tells me A LOT about the game, I noticed you have not got every single bit in the game and it is only up to the bit where you kill Grig Orig, wtf happens now?

I noticed several parts missing like 21, 22, 23 etc.

RoushiMSX does not have all his videos on google video yet, obviously. If you want to watch them chronologically, go to his website at:

pds.roushimsx.com

Actually, I bought my Saturn in 1996 because of the Zwei display at Toys’R’Us. In the demo, they kept playing the Forest stage, and it was so impressive at the time that I bought my Saturn because of it (that, and Dragon Force).

I didn’t play Panzer Dragoon Saga until about early 2000, and even then, it was only because I was playing through all my backup Sega Saturn CDs that I was trading for at the time.

Thankyou Team Andromeda, this indeed helps. The link you gave me that is.

I believe I gave you the link. Also, it was RoushiMSX who made the PDS videos, so all credit goes to him.

Yep but I give you credit for giving me the link to the website nonetheless.

I’m not Team Andromeda though :frowning:

That’s me told then :anjou_embarassed:

I’m not Team Andromeda though :(
Exactly, I am saying this to Team Andromeda not you.

Legendarus, so have you watched all the PDS videos yet? What do you think of this brilliant game?

Dude, I play Saga before. Its good, but to be honest, its ok compare to great RPGs like Final Fantasy 7,8,10,Kingdom Hearts and Castlevania. I like Orta as the best PD game.

You’d seriously have to be severely mentally retarded to even think that the Final Fantasy series is of the same, or greater, caliber than Panzer Dragoon Saga. Final Fantasy is bland, has virtually no decent storylines, no music that could be considered great, and has ‘good graphics’. Sorry, but good graphics, alone, does not make the cut. PDS, on the other hand, may not have the best graphics in the world, but it does have absolutely astounding art designs and direction, a wonderful, intellectually stimulating story, and a otherwordly soundtrack that is easily the best soundtrack to be produced for a videogame. What more can you ask for? Why you even like the Final Fantasy series is beyond me…unless your mental retardation has something to do with it.

Final Fantasy is not the only RPG I like. There are others like Chrono Trigger, Castlevania and Kingdom Hearts.

And oh my, it looks like this place is filled with ff haters or sumthing like that.I guess I’m in the wrong place.

And is there a problem saying “Ok” about PDS?

Ok well I have only WATCHED the videos on Google Video but could not download them off the website. But I did learn somewhat a lot about the game and indeed I found that perhaps PDS is better than Orta. In terms of gameplay, definately, graphics almost. The game indeed is excellant. I now am hoping they make the next game of the PD Series an RPG just like PDS. So you face Sestren at the end of the game? Wow, I only heard of him through playing Orta where you go through Sestren’s network, but what is he exactly…is he also a dragon?

The forum has rules regarding flaming, while it has no rules regarding such trivial issues as the games a person enjoys playing. Less flaming please.

Sestren is the name of the location, but also the name of the entity who controls the towers. I don’t know if I would call Sestren a dragon, although the gold dragon who ejects the dragon from Sestren is likely to be Sestren in some form or a rather. Watch the scenes just before the battle with Sestren (what we commonly refer to as “Sestren’s Memory Orbs”) and you’ll see a gold dragon-like creature attacking a black dragon. The black dragon is the impurity that merges with a coolia to become the Heresy Dragon, so the gold dragon is probably Sestren. There is also a dragon that looks like the solo wing which surrounds Sestren in the final battle; this might either be part of Sestren or an “anti-Solo Wing”.
