I’m with you on that. French films always seem to be better than American and English films.

That really depends on what type of film. Many French directors are good at doing surreal-but-real movies… But there are just as many great American directors as well.
Also, there are plenty of great Japanese directors, Chinese directors… and let’s not forget that little Kiwi director

Yes a Panzer Dragoon CGI film film. Would need the sytle and visual flair of an French director.
Best thought for SEGA never to try and make a new Pazner film
EDIT: Kind of replying to stuff that’s now halfway up the page (I went to make coffee):
I agree that Sonic Spinball was one of Sonic’s low points; not as low as Sonic 3D Blast / Flickies’ Island, but pretty low. I doubt the game would have received nearly as much attention if it didn’t have the Sonic aesthetics grafted onto it… but yeah, I thought Sonic R was definitely good. Not very Sonic-flavoured, but a very good game nonetheless, especially technically for the Saturn. My biggest complaint is that I finished the game entirely and unlocked everything in my first sitting, which was all inside one evening. If I hadn’t got the game cheap and second-hand, that would really have annoyed me.
And yeah, the new Star Wars films seem extremely mainstream and unimaginative to me. I enjoyed watching them, but I’d hardly consider them to be “classics”.
EDIT: I accidentally “quoted” Daz at the end of this post before. It presumably wouldn’t have made sense; sorry
… And yeah, to get remotely back on-topic, I wouldn’t personally want any big-name mainstream directors to handle a PD film; it’s just not the kind of thing that would react well to Spielbergification. Though I agree that Peter Jackson does sound like a decent enough idea…
How about Matthew Robbins? He directed the old “Dragonslayer” movie… From what I remember, it was quite good. I just bought the DVD, but haven’t had a chance to watch it, so I’m not sure if the quality still stands up to modern standards…
You do not know the title yet you say there already is one.
Let me guess! You havent watched it yet but you say it sucks!
hehehe v!ery funny
I’m sure Arcie knows the title and it matters little if he’s watched it or not.
This is a forum so if he didn’t reply to one of all the things talked about here it doen’t mean he doesn’t know about it
The title was mentioned by Neil before you even asked so that’s another reason for arcie to not reply to that question (Panzer Dragoon Ova)
It does suck
Buy it if you want but I don’t wanna read from you any cries about it sucking and regretting the purchase after the kind of attitude you just demonstrated.
The forums dont exist for this kind of posts and arcie did nothin to justify that kind of reply from you, please refrain from reacting like that atleast when there’s no reason to.
… I think you meant that it’s an OVA called “Panzer Dragoon”; I wouldn’t normally be pedantic, but Ova are female reproductive cells, not subtitles
And xlagi, I’m sorry to say that Arcie’s (and Al3x’s, and everyone else’s) judgement of the film sounds pretty accurate. I haven’t seen it myself, but the opinion of every person I’ve ever heard talk about it tells me that it’s not something to get excited about. I have never heard anyone actually say that this is “a good film”. It’s apparently only about half an hour long too, so it’s more like a single TV episode (based on PD1) than a movie.
LOL, I’m soooorrryyyyy I’ll remember to use caps next time
PS: You just made me spam -by my standards-, I’ll never forget this!

I’d prefer George Lucas, to be honest. Panzer Dragoon is fairly similar to Star Wars: complex history, evil empire, excellent supporting villains and heroes… It could work.
I would say that the PD series reminds me more of the manga series Nausicaa, that is probably the closest thing that I could find simular to the PD series.
Hayao Miyazaki has such a wonderful imgionation when it comes to these things. Although the anime version of Nausicaa cannot compare to the manga, it is stilla enjoyable watch. =)
that’s why I always thought this series could work soo incredibly well in the US (and also europe)!
but explain that to japanese businessmen.
“sono joi” - “revere the emperor, expel the barbarians” =(
Sorry to bring back an aged point but (DISCLAIMER:For a computer game character) Azel is hot.
i liked the azel concept art where she had two wiggly things on her head more… and i liked it when she wore craymen’s jacket…
i know they used a higher quality model for the opening/ending sequences… but did anyone think that azel seemed very pale in the rest of the FMVs? they kept trying to show that drones can look just like humans, but through most of the game she was whiter than michael jackson…
also, what does “Ne-Rai” translate to from panzerese? it’s what azel said just before atolm did his berserker rage attack.
to conclude: yeah azel is hot, if only in the opening/ending FMVs and concept art
in japanese nerai(utsu) means “to shoot with life ammo” or “to seriously target/shoot”
oh, so it wasn’t in panzerese? i thought they woud have translated it cool though, thanks.
any ideas about what that seeker says to gash when gash is leading edge through the seeker stronghold? it’s probably not important, i just remember a guy running up to gash and holding a short dialogue… with no translation.
I always thought Azel sounded like she was from Birmigham when she said ‘Ne-rai’. If you don’t know what that sounds like think Lister from Red Dwarf. If you’ve never seen red dwarf then… here endeth the lesson.
holy crap i know what you’re talking about!
cat was my favorite XD
Apparently I sound like Lister o.O

hey, if you still play it, i found this huge shortcut with mecha knuckles on the radiant emerald level. you know the part where the track turns almost sideways and goes into a large loop? jump and glide there and you can cut 15-20 seconds off by gliding to this part of the track that you go under after the long turn.
No you can’t. The game doesn’t allow you to jump over the borders. Nice try.
