Heresy!

The “normal” pad you se ein the picture is the second version of the SS pad.
When the Saturn was released the pad was bigger than this one.

Only outside of Japan, though; as far as I know, the pad in that picture is the only regular Saturn pad that was released in Japan. For some reason we got a different pad to start off with over here, but when the second model Saturn came out they started giving us the “normal” / Japanese pad (but black) instead.

(EDIT: Sorry, that sounds slightly confusing. My point was that the second pad we got over here was actually the original Saturn pad; that was why I was a bit unsure over which people would call model 1 or 2.)

This one pictured is the model 2. The superior pad. I have an unworking model 1, and it feels so awfully uncomfortable it’s unbelieveable.

Pause - Z X X Z Y Z Y X Y :anjou_happy:

I’m going to sound like a complete n00bal00b by asking this… but where does Abadd work? I get the feeling that it’s at one of the console companies…![/quote]

That’s Vermilion class information, requiring you to undergo several rituals of pain and suffering before you can be admitted to the inner sanctum of TWOTA, whereupon a sucessful year of completion without an untimely death shall grant you the information you desire.

But seriously, he’d rather we didn’t shout it out. Let’s just say, you’ve probably seen his name somewhere but don’t know which one.

Well, I don’t know who he thinks he works for, but he really works for me. Like the rest of you, he is but a pawn in the palm of my hand. Oh yes, the day of reckoning is close at hand.

Erm… I mean, uh, ahem I don’t know.

He works for me on weekends.

Well, I usually use my Model 1 Saturn so I’ve grown quite accustomed to its pads; but the Model 2 (‘normal’ pad) is quite nice and compact.

We need an :anjou_confused: icon here, gentlemen!

Anyway, that picture could well be a hoax… any articles about that, Gehn, or did you ‘misplace’ them…? :anjou_happy:

Good Lord! I’ve just realised - ‘Abadd’ is actually Yuji Naka moonlighting as a Drone! We’re honoured and blessed to have a great royal Princes of Gaming in our midst. Is there any chance of you accepting my proposal design briefs for Panzer Dragoon V, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and a Burning Rangers remake? :anjou_happy:

And if any Sega employee does lurk on these forums… seriously. Please?

Never, ever doubt me!

If you do a search online you’ll be able to find the article.I’m lazy as can be so :stuck_out_tongue:

:anjou_happy: Sure thing, Gehn; just making sure!

I believe you, of course… what’s hard to believe is that somebody could associate such a cool controller with a Sony product. :anjou_disappointment:

Wrong. I doubt Yuji Naka would stick around after the amount of times I’ve called him an idealistic fool with regards to a NiGHTS sequel and the whole Sonic Xtreme debacle.

That summed up my initial reaction

i feel like crying

I think he was joking.

This is Robert Frazer we’re talking about.

According to SegaXtreme, the PlayStation Saturn pad has a friend. I doubt that’s going to disturb people so much, though.

On the contrary. It’s even more disturbing.Beeing a generic arcade controller why should it bear the SEGA logo?Couldn’t Sony simply make an similar arcade controller of their own?

It’s not that they are breaking copyright laws.

Well, it does look pretty generic, but it’s modelled on Sega’s arcade setup for Virtua Fighter etc. The reason these things are being released is to go along with the Sega Ages games, apparently; it sounds like it’s Sega’s initiative rather than Sony’s.

<= Cue expectd reaction:

What are you guys so angry about?

But in all seriousness, though… seeing as you’ll never see another Sega platform again, don’t you find it to be a bit of delicious irony that the Saturn controller would resurface as a PS2 controller? Personally, I think it’s kinda funny.

And who said I work anywhere? How do you know I’m not homeless? HOW DO YOU KNOW I’M NOT A FIGMENT OF YOUR IMAGINATION?!?!?!

Cause you are a pain in the butt like 99% of Earth’s population. :stuck_out_tongue:
You want me to comment your third statement but I won’t indulge you.
