Hahaha, just wrong, plain wrong.
If it’s a PlayStation controller, surely it’d be better to put the circle, square, triangle and cross symbols on the buttons themselves, rather than A, B, C etc.?
(Incidentally, I’m assuming this is a real pad like the USB Saturn pads - it’s not just a hoax, is it?)
It’s real. They will be releases in Japan this month or so.
The apocalypse is nigh.
Wow. Just wow. wanders away in disgust
Why are you guys so worked up? You could just as easily look at it as someone honoring the Saturn so much that they modeled a PS controller after a Saturn one.
I suppose you’re not a fan of the SF Aniversary controls either, huh?
Just curious what’s the story behind that thing? Maybe one of the gimmick controllers like they did for the PS2/Nes, or maybe somthing for a Sega collection?
=]= REPORT ON SUPREME HERESY BY INQUISITOR ARCY =]=
Subject: Saturn Controllers being used for playstation consoles
Compiled by: Various individuals
Thought for the Day: Blind Faith is a just cause.
The above is a complete abomination in the eyes of the Emperor and his most divine Inquisition. It is recommended that whoever is responsible should be exterminated with the utmost efficiency. All further attempts at such blasphemy for economic gain should be destroyed from the inside by carefully planted moles. The rule and law of SEGA is absolute and the Inquisition shall continue to uphold it.

With the authority vested within my pure blue blood bestowed by the esteemed rank of Duke of the Hill Top Zone and a professed defencer of the True Way of Gaming, I decree that the propogators of this slur shall be subject to elimination through the attentions of a Culexus Assassain, which shall ensure that their penance will be… suitably excruciating.
Uh, yeah… I would have just said that that’s a crap idea and also damn insulting, but you hit the nail on the head too.
A Culexus Assassin? They have certainly shown they are not psychic by going with this blasphemous design, so why send the Pariah assassin after them?
I’m thinking Callidus. At home. When they’re showering. And a lil Servo-skull nearby playing the “Psycho” theme from it’s speakers.
Or even better, tell them they can die, or they can join the 13th Penal Legion…
(to those who haven’t clicked yet…Warhammer references)
I’m waiting for Abadd to ask why we’re all outraged. So I’ll just tell him now: The PlayStation was the console that killed off Sega. Now Sega is porting over the single best hardware based thing it’s ever produced to the evil machine. It is heresy to the extremist extreme.
(hunts for ‘I Agree’ emoticon)
I’m going to sound like a complete n00bal00b by asking this… but where does Abadd work? I get the feeling that it’s at one of the console companies…!
I can see down the line that some guy sees this controller and relises it’s brand new saying “They made a Sega Saturn controller for the ps2. I use to have that” and the ignorant shopkeeper/punk kid will say " What are you talking about? Sony just invented those three months ago. It’s too advanced to be an old controller because it has blagh blah blah in it."

I see your point… this shouldn’t have been made anyway. It’s an insult!
On a slightly related note… Model 1 Saturn pad versus Model 2 pad?
I only have a model one. >.> but the model 2 looks more eh, precise.
And pft, if a storekeeper says that, just go home, grab your Saturn pad and shove it in his face! And then proclaim “SATURN POWAA!” and stride out of the shop singing the Segata Sanshiro theme. =D
Oh well, at least now PSX fans can experiance what it’s like to use a good controller.
Which would be which? I know we got a fairly odd Saturn pad in Europe to start off with (the one that doesn’t look like the pad in the picture above), and I guessed the Americans got that too. Thinking about it, the “odd pad” and the analogue pad are the only Saturn pads I’ve ever really used, though I do have a couple of those normal pads (like the one in the pic) due to getting them thrown in with some stuff I bought off eBay…
