If it’s a PlayStation controller, surely it’d be better to put the circle, square, triangle and cross symbols on the buttons themselves, rather than A, B, C etc.?

Why are you guys so worked up? You could just as easily look at it as someone honoring the Saturn so much that they modeled a PS controller after a Saturn one.

Just curious what’s the story behind that thing? Maybe one of the gimmick controllers like they did for the PS2/Nes, or maybe somthing for a Sega collection?

I’m waiting for Abadd to ask why we’re all outraged. So I’ll just tell him now: The PlayStation was the console that killed off Sega. Now Sega is porting over the single best hardware based thing it’s ever produced to the evil machine. It is heresy to the extremist extreme.

I can see down the line that some guy sees this controller and relises it’s brand new saying “They made a Sega Saturn controller for the ps2. I use to have that” and the ignorant shopkeeper/punk kid will say " What are you talking about? Sony just invented those three months ago. It’s too advanced to be an old controller because it has blagh blah blah in it."

On a slightly related note… Model 1 Saturn pad versus Model 2 pad? 
I only have a model one. >.> but the model 2 looks more eh, precise.
And pft, if a storekeeper says that, just go home, grab your Saturn pad and shove it in his face! And then proclaim “SATURN POWAA!” and stride out of the shop singing the Segata Sanshiro theme. =D

Which would be which? I know we got a fairly odd Saturn pad in Europe to start off with (the one that doesn’t look like the pad in the picture above), and I guessed the Americans got that too. Thinking about it, the “odd pad” and the analogue pad are the only Saturn pads I’ve ever really used, though I do have a couple of those normal pads (like the one in the pic) due to getting them thrown in with some stuff I bought off eBay…
