Beheading Of that american soldier

i do not believe that the human race will ever become evolved enough to call themselves “gods”

The first time it witnessed harmony on all levels was during the time of ancient Lemuria (also known as MU). The only remaining evidence of Lemuria in our world today is Easter Island - which is still, to this day, shrouded in a veil of mystery and secrecy.

I am not a Grey Goo zealot - those are the people who claim that Nanotech is going to self-replicate itself and eat everythiing up and turn everything into nothing but ‘Grey Goo’. But to say that change isn’t coming is pure stupidity and ignorance - knowledge is doubling at an enormous rate, and in 8 years time, we will reach a point known as the technological Singularity, which is a point in time when knowledge will be doubling every second, making all known advances unpredictable. Things such immortality, faster than light space travel, unlimited power sources, and the ability to ‘jump’ into different dimensions will not be considered to be impossible anymore. We literally will be gods.
That is absolutely insane, those things cannot be possible in 8 years! Also your logic of knowledge doubling every second is not correct. Firstly knowledge isnt even doubling in a year, not that such a thing can be accurately measured. Also the RATE of new knowledge does not increase as knowledge increases, the rate that we learn things can only be increased by having extra scientists or researchers. For knowledge to double every second, there would have to be exponentially more people becoming researchers every second!

We shall see - The Olmecs and the Mayans predicted that ‘the end of illusion’ would occur on December 21st, 2012. Many people are expecting it to be the end of the world…but it’s not an ending, it’s a beginning of a new age of prosperity.

And of course, you shall rise to rule over your new utopia ??
Get your doctor to double your prescription.

Dont be stupid Daz, we will all be dead by then, 75% wiped out in the mass genocide and the rest either turned into gold or grey goop

Of course, how could I forget, the rest of his theories will have kicked in by then :stuck_out_tongue:

kadamose = JC denton

To be completely rational, I have to agree with Kadamose on some points. After all, it is UNDEBATABLE that the human race will eventually annihilate itself somewhere down the road, whether from depletion of resources, or influx of technology, or nuclear holocaust.

But… nanotech? Water into wine? Lead into gold? Everything else into grey goo? The biggest superpower on the globe wiped out by nuclear strike? Olmecs and Mayans?

I mean, the end of the world is coming sometime, but it’s a bit irrational to hammer out a date and say that humans will become gods on that day… e.e

i think the R factor is the most prominent threat to human survival. it is part of a theory for why there are no aliens. the idea is that we would have encountered aliens if they existed (some may argue that they have encountered aliens, or that the government has them hidden away, but in anycase aliens have not made themselves apparent to us).

the idea is that any intelligent species will at some point in their development discover nuclear technology. the R factor is wether or not that species can survive discovering nuclear technology. the hypothesis is that no life is mature enough by the time they discover it, to not annihilate themselves. so the human race is right at the point of making that decision.

if i were president of the US, i would get rid of all of our nukes and get onboard with the UN and use whatever muscle was necessary to disarm russia, china, and all the other countries that posess these weapons. then i would forcefully pass a resolution outlawing the research of any of that and create a worldwide task force to keep after that.

then i’d install a huge tax on the wealthy and eliminate inheritance to make it so people can’t just stock pile all this other money while other people starve. then i’d dish that money out to different places with terrible living environments. and raise the quality of life everywhere. i’d also kill anyone who disagreed to lower the population and make room for the next generation. i’d also say that you aren’t allowed to be stupid, there’s too many stupid people out there. i mean really flatly stupid people with no scope of anything larger or any interest in elevating themself. and if you were really smart, you would be allowed to live to older than 40.

then i’d colonize mars and build space stations everywhere.

i still plan to higher a crack team of scientists to transfer my brain into the body of a HuCast so that i can live for another millenia until the earth’s magnetic field dissipates and the radiation from the sun melts my body- assuming i haven’t acquired the upgrades necessary to withstand such an event. but if i did, then i’d hitch a ride on a comet and fling myself out into space for an eternal ride until i came across a planet with fledgling sentient life, then i’d march across the surface of their planet and beat their alien asses until they turned from green to red (even though i’d be the alien). then i’d leave. they’d write about me in their religious text and call me the assbeater that fell from the sky.

muahahahahahhaaaaa!! XD

Well at least this topic didnt turn into a flamefest(that much).

Megatherium’s got exactly the point… kinda. ^^;

See, the biggest thing I will ever hate about America is that they unveiled the nuclear bomb to the world, over half a century ago.

Now there are quite a number of countries in possession of nukes. America alone has enough to demolish all of Planet Earth over 200 times in a row.
Factor in the fact that there DO exist politicians as stupid and rash as Bush, and it’s quite obvious:

We’re gonna blow ourselves up sometime.

I suggest we get rid of all the nukes, link hands, and become one big happy family.

The problem is, once the eight countries which publicly have warheads give them up, the rouge states can take over the world, since we’ll all be afraid that they’ll blow us up if we do. If there is any such thing as rouge states.

No, rouge states don’t exist. Some are green, mostly, and some are brown desert sands, Kentucky is famous for being a bluegrass state, but that’s just a figure of speech.

Rogue states do exist though.

The ill’s of this world rest on the shoulders of each and every one of us in the west - the sooner we accept that en masse, the sooner something can be done.

There’s simply no use in defending ourselves. Whilst other parts of the world are being ravaged by war, disease and famine, we’re reporting it on the news. So great, we’re aware of it, but it doesn’t change a damn thing.

You could argue that going into Iraq, we had a chance to do something really important and compassionate. Bullshit.

We’re there now for our own gain. The affiliation of the current U.S. administration with Corporate America completely blinds the moral and ethical intentions of the West. In effect, America is the spearhead of all the West’s problems.

Harsh? No. America and Americans are told all the time they are the leaders of the free world. Perhaps someone should tell them that they are also the Country paving the way to total planetary destruction, too.

As a british citizen, I don’t get off easy, either. Where once we were a great and respected Country, we are now the 51st state, at the beck and call of our sugar daddy (America).

Ultimately, we’re all living in a dreamworld, myself included. We talk and talk and talk about what needs to be done to save this blue Sphere called Earth but we’ll never actually put our thoughts into practice. How sickening we are.

Why you used “save” in that setence?

People think the planet needs to be saved…

How come? They seem to forget that the planet never has been better.Mankind’s past is waaay worse than what happens nowadays.Don’t forget that.

Sure, the planet is not a perfect place but that doesn’t mean it will ever be able to make it like that either.
Mankind’s past is waaay worse than what happens nowadays.Don’t forget that.
What makes you think that? I just wanna know.

I mean it’s just that, right now we’re gradually consuming more and more resources, cutting down trees, poisoning rivers, destroying the land, and for what?

For bigger bombs?
For more cash?

And yes, DEFINITELY, America is at the head of all of that right now.

What makes me think that?

People forget that were no such things as “human rights” in the medieval times for example.People starved, no one cared, there were constant wars all over the world…

Now it’s way different.

Yeah, those certain points about the instability and primitiveness of the human race, were worse.

But at least they weren’t on the brink of blowing themselves off the face of the planet. Or exhausting the world’s resources through excessive greed and technology.

ADDED: So, Gehn, I really think we’re not on the same page here. You’re discussing the well-being of the human race, while I’m talking about the welfare of the planet. IMO, the planet is most important because if it goes, we go with it. That’s something many people in the world don’t realize. We all strive for better weapons, more money, and higher test scores, but we don’t realize that the world is crumbling right underneath us because of our greed.

Just remember that the planet Earth will be here long, long, LONG after the human race has gone.

… the question is: What state will it be in?

OUr planet has no need for Towers to restore itself.
