The “Holy Ark” story began with Shining The Holy Ark and ended with Shining Force 3. The Shining games have crossed RPG sub-genres on many occasions, so this was nothing new.
While STHA was a good game, many people found the old-school turn based battles repetetive.
I have my own theories on which of the three innovators kept their Spirit at the end. The truth is, however, even the creators don’t know whose spirit remained.
