Like a man without a country, Shining The Holy Ark is an RPG without a sequel. LMAO.
Because the story of Shining The Holy Ark is so inextricably tied to Shining Force 3, the game itself serves as nothing more than a constant reminder of an incomplete story. Shining The Holy Ark is a good dungeon crawler, but it was meant to be one part of a larger whole as opposed to a standalone title. Besides, Dragon Force offers greater replay value.
I believe thats a failure of Shining Force 3 rather than StHA. On its own it has a very immersing storyline and I was addicted to it the whole way though. The only thing that would be cleared up by a sequel was who kept their spirit at the end, hardly something that stops you from being able to appreciate the game. If it was meant to be part of a larger whole then surely StHA2 would have been made instead of SF3? Am I not correct in saying that they were made by the same team? StHA was the first RPG I ever played and for that reason it will allways be one of my favorite games, I even prefer it to PDS(although PDS is a very close 2nd!).
