A topic for the literate

Anyone here read but me? What’s your favorite book then?

Personally, I like the *Dark Tower *series (Stephen King) and *The Hellbound Heart *by Clive Barker…

What about you? Any suggestions for what I can read next?

The ‘His dark matrials’ series by phillip pullman is good, as is ‘beggars banquet’ by Ian Rankin. Short Stories in that one. good for people like me who have short attention spans…

now jump through the hoop! good boy!

Rock on, Daz!

I knew you liked it, just thought I’d mention it

The Amber Spyglass is the most awesomemostness book I have read in…forever!!

But it was so sad… why did they have to leave…? :’(

It was sad, I nearly cried. And I have a heart of stone…

I love reading.
I really like the Cthulhu Mythos (especially the ones by H.P. Lovecraft), the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galxy trilogy (4-5 weren’t that good) by Douglass Adams, political sci-fi novels (Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, K-PAX by Gene Brewer, 1984 by George Orwell, etc.), books about making movies (I plan on studying filmmaking in college), Illuminatus! Trilogy, and imaginative sci-fi/fantasy/horror.

I’ve read Weaveworld by Clive Barker and really liked it but haven’t read anything else by him. He makes pretty cool movies though.
For your next book, you should read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy or The Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson.
Another very cool book is A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. I would reccomend it if you don’t mind crazy/insane writing style, it has a large amount of made up words.

I’m currently reading “The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian” by Robert E. Howard. It’s a compelation of original Conan stories, in print for the first time since Weird Tales in the '30s.

I also really like Beat Poetry especially Allen Ginsberg and Kenneth Rexroth. Beatniks are awesome dudes.
