Would anybody actually like to make Genos a real game?

I would like to give my contribut myself.I’m afraid my programming ain’t that good but I could help making a plot.or music,or names and things.

We do have to organize things tho. Each person should have a task.
Two persons could have the same task tho so we can get the biggest amount of ideas possible.

Then each one would feedback…

We just have to create different areas of work.

Wow. If enough talented fans get involved, this will surely turn out to be an excellent project. I’d urge anyone who thinks that they could help to post here with details.

Solo Wing Dragon: If you haven’t done so already, check your PMs. I may be able to contribute to the project myself…

I’ve got a few ideas for the enemies that could be encountered… plus a design for a dragon that I’m working on. Watch this space.

Feveth… You’re located in Huntington Beach?

Hm.

I’m down in LA a lot (in the Redondo Beach/Torrance area). When you get something up and running, I’d like to see it some time.

I… uh… am sorta qualified, and have a personal vested interest, to give feedback on your progress and make suggestions

You are just another teasing drone.

imagines Scourge of the Terrablossom as a real video game part

drools

O.o you guys are creeping me out…although thats nothing new anyway.

You know you love me

Geoff, Lance, and I are going to work on the storyline and script for the game. Feveth is programming it and working on the 3D models. Now, what we need is someone to draw up some creature and ship concept art - something that would fit into the time just after Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Let’s make this game actualised.

Hey, can I help with the story too?! I have a TON of ideas that I would just love to see implemented.

I’d like to help with modelling…I’m not very good but I could help with simple things…can’t unwrap though…
And I think u guys assembled too small a team… 3 should be enough for the story but what about level designers and such? surely one person alone can’t do everything including the programming, creatures, characters, items, houses, level design layout, battle system rules/mechanics, quest design etc etc etc…

Quoting myself because I don’t think anyone read my first post but I really think you should follow this piece of advice:

A small suggestion: if all this does kick off don’t try to create the whole game right away, I think it would be best to think up of a very small quest that would require less than a handful of characters and a couple of areas to be finished and concetrating on creating that and getting the mechanics right and testing how everything works together and when that is at an acceptable level that’s when the full game could be created with a good chance of being good…
Developing like that will allow for easier concetration on the exact aspects of the game that need to be made and then when all is done it would just be a matter of expanding all that to a full game rather than one small quest.

For a panzer game you might need to do the testing thing twice, once for on dragon and once for on foot gameplay…

Another good thing about following that route would be that when that is done it could be released to the community and get feedback for it and then doing all the necessary changes based on the feedback before creating the whole game
Imagine if u did all the hard work and u saw that it’s fundamedals don’t please the community in practice even if it sounded good to them on paper… this can easily be avoided with my suggestion :)[/quote]

Don’t worry Alexander, I did read your first post. It seems that you are wise in the ways of that mysterious thing called “beta testing”

Yes, I think we should definitely do this. Perhaps with just the first area (that will end up being improved for the finished game) though, rather than a unique beta quest (which is what I think you’re suggesting).

Hey, that actually looks quite good. Maybe someone else could texture it …it could work out well. I’m not all that knowledgeable in that area, but I could quite easily tell what they are supposed to represent.

Yeah you’re right. It seems that story is a popular option, but we only need a few people working on that and too many could make things confusing. There are heaps of other areas which are equally important. I hope that some others here will be keen to help design the various creatures, locations etc

I like the modeling, Al3x, it’s nice. We’re definitely going to need stationary objects for the insides of buildings and what not. Would you load up some Saga and study the objects if you were able to? I can texture if you need me to.

Unwrapping is important on non-skin models, because you are going to have some rather bad “paint” style stuff.

If you want I could help out with writting the code, i’ve only been using dark basic for a couple of months, but I think i could help you with some do some of the simpiler stuff. It would also be a good chance for me to practise using dB.

Just whose projects is this anyway?

Answering this would be good cause I wanna help but I don’t think I’m needed…

I do?!

Not to crash the party, but before any programming is even attempted, the game must go through all the stages of the development tree.

concept
needs
design
THEN implication
testing

Should someone start a new thread where we decide main character names, etc, or should we all come up with an overall story, include character names and such, then pick the best one?

I think the latter is more fun, it could trigger a lot of nice fanfics too =D
