Ancient Weapon 1 , which is hands down the most impressive single bit of music score I’ve ever heard alone with Adam Freeland Fear in Rez . Just playing the Ancient Weapon music on my Hi-Fi or inthe car (people thing I must be nuts but I don’t care) I can also see EP 3 boss Catharp going through his running patterns , along with Imperial City my bits of music score the Orta. In fact I might even go as far to say Anceient City along with Ep 2 Boss Music to Panzer Dragoon as my fav bits of music to the whole series of games .
As for taking a game in a diff direction I never said that?s what Smilebit wanted to do , just that Yuzo Koshiro wanted to take the music in Streets of Rage III to a diff level , which not many people liked . But buy your logic this meant that Street Of Rage III couldn?t be classed a Streets of Rage game (or at least the sound track couldn?t) as the it was so totally diff to the music in the pervious games , even though it was done by the exact same composer on the exact same music chip , You get the point .
And some times you need to take the series in a diff art or music direction otherwise what is the point in making a new game if its going to play look and sound like the pervious game in the series? , This is a problem that somthing like Dead Or Alive needs to address as the same artwork is getting boring right now , to me DOA IV or DOA XBX II hardly look any diff to thier X-Box counter parts , more so for DOA XVB II . Or are you really going to tell me thats the likes of Resident Evil 4 are bad games becase they moved so much away for the original in terms of music , art direction and gameplay (well everything dept really ) ???
And Orta was far from lacking atmosphere to me, we can debate over the story till the cows come home, but the games atmosphere and stunning Art diection to me and kept faith with the series and Combined elements form all 3 previous panzer games into one package, and went back to the shooter roots. As seeing as shooters along with FPS are my fav genre ORTA remains one of the finest games I?ve had the pleasure to play
