I used to get Xgamer, which was not bad, but since it became Xboxgamer it seems to have gone downhill allot, and I only occasoinally get it, and only for the news, considering I practically never agree with their reveiws.
I don’t really like any of the Xbox magasines, they don’t seem to been anywhere near the standards of the magasines I got for my Dreamcast and Saturn.
If I get a Gamecube, which I was thinking about considering how cheap you can get them, it might be worth getting a multi-platform magasine…
Shudders, I remember that, I pciked it up and they said they were doing a “redo”. All the crazy humor and its once hardcore readship are now gone. [/quote]
yeah, when it change to that new look (it had star wars racer on the front i think) it became crap. I kept a subscription to it tho. Now it suddenely changed to gamesmaster which is even crapper, i am no longer suscribed.
SSM was pure class. I started getting it from issue 27 (when i got my saturn) and got all the continuing issues. My dad picke dup a load of older ones from a car boot sale. However some have pages missing and there are still some issues i need =(
I occasionally check eBay. I love SSM, its great.

Yeah it was the issue with Star Wars Episode 1 racer on (I was subscribed still with CVG with issues left over from the SSM subscription). I remember being very pissed off reading the November '98 issue of SSM to find it cancelled.
Intresting you mention GM, both it and CVG are scrappy monuments to a better age so to speak…
It was OK. It was a more professional mag than SSM in terms of the writing style, and the demos were good, but I didn’t read it too often since they were really tough on reviews. They gave out one 10/10, and that was to Soul Calibur 1.
Sega Saturn Magazine was the best video game magazine ever. Too bad I only started collecting them towards the end.
I got CVG after that, which was okay, until the Official UK Dreamcast Magazine came out, and then I got that instead.
I think they gave one other game 10/10 besides Soul Calibur. Shenmue was also awarded 10/10.
I don’t buy magazines these days - the Internet covers everything really. I read EGM from time from time, though, since I can just borrow copies of it.
www.metacritic.com Very nice site, they compile reviews from everywhere, and average them out to give you an idea of what the critics are saying overall about a certain game/movie.

Thats actually quite useful, although Im pretty sure Happy puppy does the same (in a less user friendly manner).
I used to buy GameFan and C&VG (US versions) but I haven’t done so in ages. I also used to buy Pixel’s Greek version, I’m not sure if it has a foreign counterpart either, it seemed quite… Greek lol. I randomly (not casually) buy some PC magazines like Ram and PC Master/Magazine (Greek versions again).
I mostly just use the internet ever since I got my PC really… No need to buy magazines anymore like Solo said.
