Abadd is right on this to be honest: even with maximum exposure, very few people would want to play this game.
You can’t really blame Sega for that, now can you?
So because I own a Wii I’m not a core gamer? Sweet.
I guess becasue I own a Wii, I’m a casual huh ?. or becaue I own a 360 I’m whiny little bitch… SWEET !
No like usual you leave a little bit of fambait and when someone responds with facts and what they feel, you get all defensive and try and turn and twist things , I think its clear for everyone to see .
You always keep on about my so called hate of the Wii, I’ve yet to see you post anything positive about the X-Box , much less the 360 for the most part.
Well You can, if you want to get maximum exposure these days in all the press and with all the gamers , then it need to be multi platform . Maybe in Japan there was case for this being PS3 only, I can’t understand that logic for the West though.
And it will be silly if SEGA made this wonderful engine and won’t let it be shared between the teams or use on other games
Umm what? When did I say that? You’re the one who first implied that about me, by saying “not only core gamers are bitches” or whatever, now you repeat what I said and replace “not core” with “casual”? Seriously, it seems you’re having a hidden dicussion with someone invisible to me at times, or that you don’t read anything I say, so you really shouldn’t try to respond if so.
Umm, what? Again, you fall to such a low level, to refer to a joke I made to Abadd. You’ve done that twice or three times so far and it’s getting tiring. The joke didn’t even reference 360 users, what the hell are you on about? Try and say my response to Abadd wasn’t a mere joke, that will be fun to watch. And you have the nerve to claim I twist things around? Ha, ha, ha. It’s not really funny but better to “laugh” than type something else.
A simple joke that said nothing about 360 specifically fired you up so bad you rushed ot say how friggin Nights (?!) should have sold better, and then all the other totally insane and unfair game/sales comparisons you came up with, and speculation that one moment said that there are no good games and the next that good games don’t sell (if they don’t exist, then how do you want them to sell), and then that company x (SEGA or CAPCOM or whatever) sells bad on Wii, and then failing to respond on why then they have like 4+ exclusives coming to it if they do so bad on it, and whatever other crap, and ignoring all the mentions of upcoming hot existing and brand-new IPs, only leading the discussion in circles. And you say I have the platform x hate in me? Try to look in a mirror.
What facts are you talking about now? Any fact you gave, I didn’t argue with in the first place so it was a pointless mention. Other than that, you’re the one who didn’t respond to 90% of my posts, only picking and matching sentences you wanted, taking them completely out of context, with different (and rather insane) comparisons and even more different conclusions presented every other comment line.
I wish I could say all of this is due to your knowledge of English, or perhaps my own shitty grammar and syntax, but with your persistence and constant repeats and ignores of most of the presented arguments, it’s clear there are other reasons for it.
As for me having to praise the 360, uh, okay? I’ll try and do that in the next PS3 game thread. You brought the 360 and/or its games and/or its sales in the argument, and all the “negative” I’ve said about the console is the reasons I don’t buy one for myself, nothing more. I don’t buy a PS3 either, but that doesn’t fire you up as bad, does it?
Yeah, I totally hate the platform dude, I go around saying it has no good games – other than 1 or 2 highly regarded titles – and stuff, and that MS is Satan. Oh, wait, that sounds like eomeone else’s statements about a different company and system.
What’s getting boring is your trying to twist things and make out you’re the poor little innocent victim .
Please don’t tell me I get fired up , one person only got to say one bad thing about the Wii and you’re there like shot . Now all you needed to say if I don’t want to get involved in that kind of debate , or it wasn’t meant in that way , but like usual you hit back , and now you haven’t got the fact the back up your case get all bitchy about it . And its the same story in all the threads.
You got a answer as to why most of the 3rd parties put their bigger IP on the PS3/360 and seem to make the better games for those systems , or why despite the Wii selling more than the 360 and PS3 combined for most the most part, its not reflected in the software sales chart ?.
I put it too you , that the Wii specs and controls are limiting for a lot of te games 3rd parties would like to make, and most of the Wii owners are for a better word casuals , and for the most part Happy with Wi Sports and Wii Play .
I remember you having a right go, when I made out the 3d sensor in the Wii was cheap and nasty and not up task for most games with quick motions , only for to say its NCL to bring out Wii MotionPlus, which backed up most of what people had been saying .
I think its pretty clear to many there’s a lot of issues with the Wii and its not all the fault of the 3rd parties
You mean one only has to make one abstract reference to the Wii, as a joke that doesn’t try to put your 360 down, to get you started about how much the Wii sucks and how much better the 360 is. You know, like in this thread.
So I got the answer to a question I never even asked? Okay, if it makes you feel better. I have enough major IPs coming and enough new IPs created to not really care, but if you do, great for you. I’m often more fond of minor IPs anyway.
Also, I’m defensive? Well, sure, you’d love it if I just agreed to all the bs discussed, sorry it doesn’t work that way when you start an attack by taking a joke aimed at someone else out of context and starting a serious flamebait discussion out of it.
Then you remember wrong, I never excused the Wii’s limitations by saying MPlus is coming. NEVER. I do want to see MPlus, but not because of the current remote’s limitations, rather the possibilities that it opens. I never expected that functionality out of the box, and anyone who did was simply wrong to do so. I’d be fine if MPlus never came, but I want to see it now I know it’s coming all the same. Hard to understand?
And you’re also wrong in saying it’s not fast enough, MPlus has nothing to do with speed, it’s about accuracy of motion sensing. The pointer function, which is all that most games need in this day and age – and is most of why I like the Wii – since most are first or third person titles, works fast out of the box. If a given game has lag, it’s the game’s fault, because other games, Like Metroid Prime 3, or Wii Sports, or even the Wii’s firmware, do NOT have lag, which shows the hardware is fine, and it’s up to the software to make use of it. Zelda for example does have insane lag in pointing, as it was tacked on for the port – thankfully it’s not a major part of the game as it’s not run and gun anyway. That and other bad implementations don’t make the hardware bad.
Now, past the pointer functions, if someone wants to use the limited motion sensing of the Wii in extreme ways, then it’s his own fault since he tries to make the hardware do things it can’t, wouldn’t you say? If someone throws a brick out of the window trying to make it fly, surely its his own fault if it kills someone. He shouldn’t have done that in the first place, not then blame the Wii for lacking feature X, or not having MPlus yet, or blame the brick for lacking wings and being too heavy. Again, I hope that concept isn’t too hard to understand either.
But anyway, most of the bad Wii games are simply bad all around, better motion sensing wouldn’t have made them better when visuals are drab without any charm, controls are badly designed, levels are even worse, and it’s basically an unplayable mess, with or without additional gestures.
No platform is perfect, but acting like the specs are the reason so many bad games are made is simply ignorant, when we had far better games with far worse specs in the past, and when we have prime examples of excellent gaming experiences for the Wii too. Lazy developing shouldn’t be excused on any platform, no matter how much you hate it, but I know it’s too hard for you.
Bad games are made for the Wii for the same reason they’re made on every platform. Cash ins. Rarely you have a bad game from a genuine effort, like for Mushroom Men for example, but hey, the guys just didn’t manage to realise a game as good as Super Mario Galaxy, better luck next time. They’re the exception to the rule – and the game’s not that bad, just couldn’t think of an example other than that.
bump
Looks like this game will be getting a sequel after all, however it’s for the PSP this time rather than for the Playstation 3.
I guess the game didn’t sell well enough on the PS3 to warrant a console sequel. Handhelds have become the home of turn based strategy games these days, it would seem.
Looks pretty good for PSP too. And i can actually play it that way so, yay. It’s a shame the first didn’t sell before the half-price slash. It got good sales after that, perhaps if the PSP one sells they’ll make a console sequel. It shouldn’t cost as much as the 1st after all, engine and many assets already done.
The PSP’s getting a lot of love lately, with the likes of this, new metal gear, some awesome looking horror JRPG by atlus, gran turismo, assassin’s creed, and other stuff. Quite the comeback. DS still dominates but PSP’s doing good too.
The PSP-version looks strikingly similar to the PS3 one.
What I would personally be interested in, is a way to play that game on both the PSP and on the PS3. Since the engine for a PS3-version stands already, why not make a high-res version (more detailled models, high-res textures, how much more expensive could that be?) available to download and allow gamesave-sharing?
So i can enjoy a little tactical op on my busride, but also enjoy the wonderful aquarellish magnificence on my TV when i play at home? Especially for games with a mission-based structure, or strategy rpg’s in general, I would love to see more of that.
Am I the only one who’d be interested in that?
Sega just confirmed VC2 is coming to the US in summer 2010:

EDIT: IGN reports the game has only been confirmed for a UMD release, I sure hope they’ll provide a digital download version as well seeing how the new PSP Go doesn’t support UMD.
