Goldeneye is kicking Symphony of the Night’s butt on Gamefaqs!
Goldeneye is kicking Symphony of the Night’s butt on Gamefaqs!
How ironic…
A game made for the N64 considered the best of the best…
Now that would be a surprise…
It’ll get smashed by some Square game, no doubt.
Hope so cause the only Square game that can do that now is FF7 and FF7 is a lot better than GoldenEye…
… well it’s a much better RPG, but then isn’t Final Fantasy 7 pretty lame if you’re looking for an FPS? I’ve said this before about the whole “best game ever” contest, but where’s the sense in comparing games from completely different genres? They may both be great at what they do, but isn’t saying that one is better than the other like saying that lightbulbs are better than apples…?
No.Isn’t Panzer Dragoon saga the best of games for a big numebr of people on these boards?Yes of course.
Why don’t they take Daytona USA in higher consideration?
Cause regardless of the genre different games touch us in different ways.
That’s why everyone has a favourite videogame genre.
They should’ve had the competition by comparing games within genres.
Well i can go further and ask you : what defines a genre?
A tiny gameplay difference can give us very different experiences in two game sof the same genere…

That wasn’t my point, Gehn; I’m talking about when people say that one good game from one genre can be definitively, unquestionably better than one good game from another genre; the statement just doesn’t make sense.
Sure it might be one or another person’s favourite, but since when did “favourite” for one person (or however many vote for it) equal “best” in general? Surely this should be called the “Most popular game ever contest”? After all, we all prefer different games and have different favourite games for different reasons, because we’re all different…
Well in that case (and I’m not dissagreeing with you) doing a survey to see which was the best game in a specific genre would also be pointless cause we all have different tastes and Sega Rally coulldn’t be unquestionably the best.
My thoughts exactly; although it’s not statements that say any game is the most popular or the most people’s favourite that I find pointless, it’s when the word “best” is slapped onto the thing as if it’s the most unquestionably brilliant thing ever which is going to please everyone in the world. And of course, it’'s not; different people will always prefer different things, especially where completely different genres are concerned.
By the way, I assume you meant that you just prefer FF7 to GoldenEye; I wasn’t knocking your opinion at all, just being pedantic about how you said it.
The way I said it?
Sometimes I liek going with the barinstorming flow but sometimes I liek to amke the world a simple place and I go ahead and say “no matter!I say so so it is so!”
Basically what i’m saying is that everyone who thinks Goldeneye is btetr than FF7 is a sick person.
Ooh there goes the little scrap of credibility left in me …
Of course it should – which is why Ceej said that it was a popularity contest in the end ^_~.
Well one thing’s for sure.Pacman sure dind’t win…
Btw welcome Mumei
Arigatou ^_^.
Do you guys care who wins the Character Contest? As long as it isn’t Cloud >_<. He’s good, but not that good.
