Don’t worry, O-chem is plenty conceivable, but that doesn’t make it any less horrid. Stay away… FAR away. Well, that is, unless you want to be a science major of some sort, particularly bio or chem. Then you’ve got no choice

I learned the horror of organic chemistry in my AP Chemistry course. Taxonomy wasn’t so bad, but figuring out three different methods for one chemical to turn into another was. Thankfully the course was rather short, and we got to do other slightly cool stuff like NMR Spectroscopy (analyzing substances by their hydrogen atoms) and synthesizing asprin.
My O-chem teacher taught us the chemical composition of cocaine
…and Tupperware.
He was a funny guy. He was also the guy who first synthesized estrogen, so I suppose you could say he was rather famous. Vollhardt, was his name, I think.
Didn’t make the class any easier, though. Glad I switched majors, that’s for sure.
