As you say Team Andromeda, people are entitled to their own views. And to jump to the conclusion of brand loyalty isn’t very charitable based on so little.
For example, two of my top three fave XBOX games are from Smilebit, but I literally can’t stand to play either of Smilebit’s other two action games. They’re 50/50 for me, covering opposite ends of the fun spectrum.
But saying something isn’t getting the attention it deserves because of SONY branding is… just funny.

True but I stand by what I say. If this wasn’t a In-House Team effort or worst still onthe PS2 I bet more people would be praising this game.
Glad we’ve established that length matters so much. Guess that means Panzer Dragoon Zwei isn’t even 1/8th as good as Shadow of the Colossus since it can be beaten in under an hour.
So what exactly is repetitive about Shadow of the Colossus that isn’t in any of the Panzer Dragoon games? I’m very curious.
the fact that u face a colossus which is exciting, u beat him, then u are being brought back to the temple and u get to hear who the next colossus is, there is absolutely NOTHING else to do and riding the land searching for a colossus isn’t very exciting to me, it is repetetive, especially 16x times, I’m no fan of the first panzer dragoon games because I don’t liek shooters, I do really like saga and especially the whole storyline surrounding panzer dragoon, while the game is lineair panzer dragoon sage took me 4x longer first time through then shadow and was alot alot more exciting in multiple ways to me

if this game was made by sega it would’ve sold about 25x less

I’ll remind you again SAGA is a RPG is ment to last longer . Not all games need to last 20 + hrs . Its wrong to compare both
you don’t understand, you sayd that if this game was by sega it would’ve gotten a better response, well the only thing that would’ve happened if it was made by sega was that it would’ve sold 25x less
That is just utter rubish and no doubt come form SONY bashers .
Nobody hate SONY more than me, but this game is a gem and if made by the JSR/Panzer boys and onthe XBox or CUBE this site would be going mad over it.
I’ve beaten the likes of REZ, SAGA, ICO countless times but the game are so good they keep you going back for more. Its going to be the same with this game, going to replay the flying Colossus boss countless time on its own .
I really hate this , becasue its SONY this game will never get the credit it so richly deservers
Well, first off - I was just repeating information heard elsewhere in the hopes that someone could clarify the situation as to whether that was true or not.
Secondly, I have 3 PS2s (one for each region) with around 80 games for them so if you feel any of that Sony bashing was coming from me you’re very much mistaken. I have no problem with either short games nor linearity, as long as the experience is worth my time.

I didn’t mean you, just the people that were talking about the games so called linearity.
Trust me you need to get this game right now
I know, I just can’t justify the expense right now! Can you tell me something about the environment you fight the Colossi in? All I’ve seen are the flat plains, and a few design sketches months back in Edge.
Lets just say its got the 2nd best game ending in history , right up there with SAGA.
Sad to say it, but I even cried a few tears at one point.
ICO fans need to see the ending as it will explain a lot , in a world Magical and so moving its almost untrue
I finally played the demo version of this at work. There were a surprising number of graphic glitches in the demo, which I hope are fixed in the full version of the game (things like rock walls popping in and out of the screen–I see distant background one minute and the next I’m looking at a mountainside that’s almost in my face). So I got to fight the first colossus and if that’s any indication of the rest of the game it should be fun, but I’m now wondering if this should be a rental or borrow instead of a buy. Maybe I just wasn’t used to the controls yet, but they felt very clunky to me.
Has anybody here ever been able to defeat the 13th Colossus in Time Attack? I’m beginning to think it’s impossible. Granted, that may be me being overdramatic, but when I’ve tried for three solid hours, again and again and again, always getting it down to where it needs just one last stab to finish it off… And then something happens to screw me up. At one point, I had one more stab to go, and nearly a full FIVE MINUTES left to take it down! But then, it happened. Every single time I tried to jump on its wing, I failed. I would miss completely, and one one occasion, due to some form of collision detection glitch, I went literally right through its wing, on what would have been a perfectly timed jump! o.O I can never seem to get that last stab in, in time, and I’m wondering if anybody here was ever able to defeat this thing in TA, and if so, how in God’s name did you do it?
In case anyone needs a memory jog, it’s the one in the desert with the floatsacs attached to the bottom that you need to shoot down for it to descend and skim the sand with its wings so that you can jump onto them.
Currently, it’s my favorite game of all time and is one of very few titles to receive a 10/10 from me (of which the rest can be found in my sig), which I feel is saying a lot. I cannot possibly reccomend the title more. It has an emotional effect on me like nothing else, is absolutely awe-inspiring in every respect, and has hands-down the most intense, engaging, and emotional ending I’ve ever experienced.
If only I could beat this last TA battle, though! o_O
