Sega sucks

Considering your unhappiness with Sega I’d assume you would be touchy about a new PD game. What if Sega continue to “screw up”?

The thing is : is it a safe bet to let some other developer who has never been in touch with a game like PD (as an example;the one that really matters :P) before, twist things like he sees fit?No one likes to be uncredited fro their work;a new developer would surely come up with new elements that might be unconsistent with the franchise and might feel awkward to those who love it from day one.

Re-read my statement: If someone else were to come in and make a kick ass Halo 3, people would stop caring that it wasn’t Bungie.

If a new developer were to come in, not understand what Halo (or PD) was about, and made something completely different, it would cease to kick ass.

Tell that to the developers at Neverland.

In some instances, sure. I don’t deny that. There were some fantastic games on the DC that were leagues better than the competition (not in all cases… there were plenty of great games from other developers, too). However, the industry, as I’ve said before, is much different now compared to then. Everyone else has stepped up their game since then.

Now, I thought the VMU was a great concept, but that’s comparing apples and oranges. Xbox downloading levels is a direct descendant of PC gaming, not the VMU. Given today’s technology, you could probably make a much better VMU, but I would simply prefer no memory cards and for all hardware to come standard with a hard drive instead.

Well, yes and no. Yes, things could have been handled much differently. During the launch of the DC, all they had to do was show actual game graphics. They blew the PSX away. But instead, they showed what looked like CG (was actually done in engine, but difficult to tell for the audience). And “It’s Thinking”?? That’s just plain weird.

But, the marketing campaign would have been adequate had Sega not had such an uphill battle to begin with. Too many battle scars and too many burned bridges doomed the DC from the start, unfortunately =\

Heh… really? That’s news to me. Given that I’m good friends with Yu-san and Kodama-san, you figured I’d know, eh? :)[/quote]

That doesn’t prove anything. They may know loads of people that doesn’t mean they’re gonna tell them what Sega is doing to even their freinds and especially anyone in the industry outside Sega. Look at the Sonic Online fiasco Sega is denying they’re making it yet there’s evidence to support that it’s being made. All Sega big wigs will deny it no matter how well you think you know them.

Yu suzuki has gone around saying it won’t be made yet there’s some evidence supporting that SHENMUE 3 is in development and actually should be ready to release.

So excuse me if a few names of Sega employees isn’t enough to sway me on your opinion that it’s not getting made…EVER.

Oh, I didn’t say “ever.” You said that they are coming to TGS. Granted, though… you didn’t say what year :stuck_out_tongue: All I’m saying is that they’re not coming to this year’s TGS.

And believe what you want. You figure, though, that after all I’ve said and done, you’d start to be able to put the bigger picture together.

Like what? I have to take your word for it but why should i? There’s dozens of people on any Sega forums that say they familiar with this person from Sega and that one from whatever. What makes you any different from them? You never seem to prove anything you say to back statements up and you rely on people to have faith in you to believe what your saying is fact about internal developments about Sega. As much as a knowledgable guy you are which isn’t in dispute I have to remain cynical on this front because i’ve heard it so many times from other people who know the “ins” and “outs” of Sega and they all turn out to be liars.

Oh I don’t doubt Abadd is telling the truth for Shenmue.
I mean I can’t see anyway Shenmue III is coming this year at all. And with out some cash from M$ or sombody maybe not ever. If was coming coming a project that size would have a a few leaks.

Still in saying that I remember SEGA Europe saying you could put in writting that X-Men Vs Street Fighter with the 4-Meg card was coming out on Pal.
And they said they SEGA was doing a collection of Brave Fighters/Ambulance, Jumbo Safari for the DC

Ok then Abadd, tell me if this is true .I have it on good authority that SEGA Rally is coming to the 360, if they any truth in that one ???.

That’s news to me. it’s always been a PS2 designated title if your talking about SEGA RALLY 2005.

Abadd may be right that SHENMUE 3 won’t make a apperance at TGS as Sega shows their new games before any event show anyway but i do know that it has been in development and it’s gone over four years since it was announced as being greenlit. So it should make an apperence as a title this year at least.

Nah I was just joking mate, While I love to say Sasaki himself confired Rally is coming to the 360. The sad truth is this is where the rumors are flying from. Which are supposed to be from an upcoming Official Xbox magazine

Link.

I remember seeing the PS2 version of 2005 last years. And SEGA might as well can it , for how good it looked. And random generated coruse idea just sounds terrible.

With regards to Shenmue III. I remember AM#2 said they were devleloping back in 2001, but that was for the Dc. Even remember seeing some shots on the Sega Europe site. But there’s been nothing since.
And all I’ve seen from Yu is the worlds “No, Not yet” when asked about Shenmue III a couple of years back.

The difference is, Team Andromeda, that Abadd takes an intelligent, educated and informed approach which signifies him to be a reliable and reputable source as well as a thoroughly decent and affable chap all round. He emphatically doesn’t just rant misspelt rubbish on the Gamespy forums whilst claiming he’s having an affair with Hisaro Oguchi’s wife.

Anyway, regarding Shenmue III - as I understand it, Yu Suzuki desperately wants to complete all twenty-seven chapters of Shenmue, and is determined to make sure his project overcomes all other adversity. That’s one reason why he’s made Shenmue Online - it’s a cash cow tailored for China and Korea (where MMORPGs are obscenely popular) to provide the financial outlay from which Shenmue III can be funded, and as such, we won’t hear anything about it until Shenmue Online has had time to sell. Have you heard anything from your contacts that can confirm that, Abadd?

Reads Team Andromeda’s posted list. Pauses, executes a cinematic double-take and spurts the tea he’s drinking over the monitor.

Holy Christ and all the communions and choirs of saints and angels… Dead or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball is classified as a Role-Playing Game?! What a dark world we live in… :anjou_wow:

You’re roleplaying the volleyball. DUH.

Yes, but how many of those people actually post pictures of themselves alongside the developers they claim to know? And not just at game shows… at a private dinner? Heck, I even brought LordCraymen along with me

And I honestly don’t know what to say about Rally. It’s… complicated.

I’m glad to see that a true Virtua Fighter game might make its way to platform finally, after being isolated on the PS2 for two game two long.

What’s there to say other than its being made for the PS2 which 9 times out of 10 means it will be poor. As SEGA can’t use that hardware at all.

This is typical SEGA of late. They just sit on a classic franchise that people want to see (even some of the casuals) and then when they do decide to up date them put in pointless modes that nobody wants (like with Neo).

Instead of taking it online and building on SR II excellent Consumer mode (which for me had some of the best course design ever).
We get poor graphics and a pointless random mode (which have never worked in any game so far).

Hell I bet SEGA took so long it can?t even licence the cars. What with the likes of M$, CodeMasters, Sony getting the rights to the Rally cars

Like I said, it’s complicated. I unfortunately cannot elaborate any further.

Oh dear if it?s thatcomplicated it must be down to licensing issue then :frowning: Bang goes another classic SEGA franchise :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

No, that’s not it.

Ok then,
I’ll leave it at that.

Wasn’t Sega Rally part of the Sega Sports range of titles?

That’s a lot of first person shooters for the 360. It’ll have more coming out on it than on the PC at this rate.

I wonder if Jade Empire 2 is actually in development, or if that list is just based on rumours and already confirmed titles.
