Panzer Dragoon SEGA petition

I was wondering, have we or anybody else ever made a petition for a new Panzer Dragoon game ???

not that I know of… it might be worth a try.
I would buy as good as every new panzer dragoon game… make it a low budget 2d rpg and I would grab it as well. as long as its the pd world… :anjou_sigh:

Then we should make one or something

I doubt that Sega would even know where to begin if they made a new PD game anyway.

I’m happy with how the story ended to be honest, even if I’d love to see another true PD game, but only if it were made by people who’d respect the source material. Nowadays everything has to be watered down and diluted unless it’s aimed at a niche market. I don’t think there’s enough of a demand for this type of game, sadly.

Well i?m certainly not! Theres waaaaaaaaaay too many questions to be awsered and a LOT of potential. Just imagine a RPG Panzer Dragoon happening in the Ancient Age, possibilities are endless!

And its not that hard for SEGA, SEGA is not just a game developer, its also a publisher, and since they hold the license, just hire Grounding Inc. and publish the game, simple.

And there is a market for RPG games, just look at awsome games like Demon souls for exemple, a game like Panzer Dragoon certainly have a place

You have to take into consideration the setting, then brand recognition, market penetration and whether the investment leads to a positive return.

Business is business is business. :frowning:

I’m happy to let my imagination fill in the blanks. But if there ever were a PD game, the only people I’d trust to do the game justice are the original devs. Anyone making it would have to work within the money making framework.

I agree with the developers part, and the fact that business is business, however i have to disagree with those who say that theres is no place for Panzer Dragoon today.

There?s basically two markets: RPG, and railshooter.

The lastest would be nearly impossible to have success in today?s world filled with CoD fanboys. However theres still a huge market for RPG?s.

The first step would be to launch Saga on PSN and Xbox live so that gamers could have a first contact with the IP, and then they could launch the game.

Other option would be to at least please the fans of panzer dragoon and make a retail copy celebrating the franchise with all the games remade in HD, can you imagine that .

//__________

Dreams aside, theres is other option, a fan made game. Now, i know that it would be nearly impossible to do that…except for the storyline, i mean, we could work together and make a script for the storyline of the next game, describing the envyronments, how the gameplay would be etc, and maybe SEGA or somebody else could get interested some day. Just take a look at Duke Nukem Reloaded for exemple.

And still on the petition, we don?t loose anything by making one, what about making a facebook page?

There’s a Facebook group here:
facebook.com/group.php?gid=112135998799422

There is at least one other suitable option: action/adventure. I at least don’t see Panzer Dragoon constrained by two genres.

Oh god, now you made me think outside of the box, and its great!

I can see myself now, platforming in the ancient ruins, exploring massive rooms, and then getting in the back of a dragon flying around blasting everything in my path, man it would be great!

That group is not “loud” enough, i?m talking something big that can catch attention for real.

And what about making a script for a new game Solo, what do you think about that?

You have to love the CoD generation and the Facebook game gamers dragging gaming down. :frowning:

But that’s life. Now give us more explosions and naked women please. We need some more distractions to distract us from the fact that the world is going to end next year.

LOOOOOL xD

There’s a fan game in development, so I would suggest contributing to that, rather than starting a new project. If you want more info, have a chat to Nevey.

There is? I had no idea really, i certainly wiill. Is there a thread here about that?

Chill out people. Give me 10 years. I’ll snatch the IP off Sega’s hands and produce a sequel. I’ll hire Futatsugi and Kusunoki and the rest of the TA survivors and work in conjunction with Tetsuya Mizuguchi to provide a steady supply of psychadelic drugs for the team during the whole process for maximum “second coming” effect.

I’ll market the game too! (what’s marketing you ask? It’s this new thing…)

And I might even ask you guys for help when the time comes. Until then, just keep the flame alive within your biomechanical hearts.

I’ll be a wandering ninja by then walking slowly across the charred remnants of what was once the Earth.

One can’t blame COD for the decline in 2D and 3D shooters, that was happing inthe 16 bit and 32 bit generations sadly enough . It costs so much to make a AAA shooter now that a new Panzer shooter will never be developed for a home system, our only hope I guess is a Panzer Dragoon Saga II

But to be honest I rather SEGA used the canvas engine to make a sequel to Skies of Arcadia and just remade Saga with the best next gen engine SEGA can muster ( I was more or less happy with the end of Saga) and if the remake sells well enough, who knows…

What do you think about the potential for a shorter rail shooter on XBLA?

People generally want to be entertained, not challenged. That’s their choice, not ours, but the market is always going to be reflected.

Shooters are dead. But PD could find other ways to reach the market. I just would not really want it to be a reflection of soap opera gamers who don’t even care about the lore itself. They do drag gaming down.

I dont think shooters are dead, there was a lot of stuff on dreamcast (after its official death, funny as it is) and afaik eden is a shooter . Its like saying there is no good music anymore when you only listen to the big charts. I think its just that the market is flooded with games so much and that we are used to get better and better games that it dulls the perception.

Simply said, many amateur games today can be very good by rather easy methods. compare it to the old games and it doesnt look that bad…

Wasnt that game where you drove around according to a music track really popular ?

In case you want to revive it, make it !

None the market for a high budget 3D shooter just isn’t there any more . Only hope would be a Arcade Panzer game that is ported to LIVE imo. If there is to be a sequel it would have to be a RPG to have any chance this or next gen.
