A prequel to NieR Automata has been updated and re-released on modern systems.
There is also a topic about the original version which I didn’t play; I enjoyed Automata, so I’ll probably give this version a try at some point.

I may play this at some point as well. We can finally see the version of this game that Japan got. The version where you play as the brother trying to save his sister rather than the father trying to save his daughter.
I just completed my first playthrough, and I will start the second tonight probably. From what I have heard, you see more of the story each playthrough after you fight the final boss. This game is just really, really good. I love the story and it has a great soundtrack. I definitely recommend it.
