Yeah, I’m curious. Since we’ve got so many newbies here, I’d like to know (in detail) what kind of music everyone here likes. Back in the Die Welt days, I was a real metal dude, but now, while I still listen to some of that stuff, I listen to mostly to gothic/industrial music, along with some alternative rock and punk. Some of the artists I like include:
Bauhaus
The Cure
Christian Death/Rozz Williams
Orgy
AFI
Crass
Rudimentary Peni
The Sisters of Mercy
Siouxie and the Banshees
The Cruxshadows
Bella Morte
Flaw
Clan of Xymox
London After Midnight
Swans
The Casualties
Gorillaz
Cradle of Filth
Dimmu Borgir
Sigur Ros (I actually just got into them. Beautiful music!)
David Bowie
Paradise Lost
VNV Nation
Mindless Self Indulgence
Glenn Danzig
Current 93
Death in June
…And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead
Elvis Presley
The Damned
Joy Division
Apoptygma Berzerk
Yoshitaka Azuma (I just had to put him)
Southern Death Cult
Sol Invictus
Suicide Commando
Ramones
Devin Townsend
Fields of the Nephilim
Wumpscut
Evil’s Toy
Front 242
Front Line Assembly
Assemblage 23
Skinny Puppy
Black Tape for a Blue Girl
Andromeda
Ark
Chroma Key
Devin Townsend (I don’t like Strapping Young Lad tho)
Dream Theater (One of my favourites : these guys just cover it all : slow pace fast pace - all brilliant!)
Gordian Knot
Hate Dept (Startin to dig this industrial thingy)
Information Society (The 80’s ruled!)
Kaipa
Kurt Harland (Genious)
Liquid Tension Experiment (Fast paced action. This band is composed by the best “virtuosos” ever!)
Muse
Neal Morse
Office of Strategic Influence (Art!)
Paatos
Police
Porcupine Tree
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Robyn Miller
Rush
Spiral Architect (I don’t like the voices too much tho)
Spock’s Beard (They invented the word bliss ya know?)
Steven Wilson
Tangent
Tsuneo Imahori (if someone knows this guy’s work PLEASE SAY SOMETHING!!!)
Victor
Hey Neil I’ve only recently started listening to Industrial things : can you recommend me somthing?
Lostprophets
Yellowcard
Switchfoot
Rage Against the Machine
A Perfect Circle
Dashboard Confessional
Incubus
AFI
Metallica
Nirvana
Staind
Audioslave
Saves the Day
Story of the Year
Evanescence
Sneaker Pimps
Jet
Led Zeppelin
My top 10 bands are (I’m very fickle so this list is constantly changing):
They Might Be Giants
Gwar
Iron Maiden
Nine Inch Nails
Ministry
Anthrax
KMFDM
Moby
Strapping Young Lad
Beastie Boys
I’ll litereally listen to everything. People often say that when they mean “I like most pop-rock/nu-metal bands/rap” but I’ll listen to everything from polka to experimental noise. I listen to a lot of free-form independant station, so I hear all sorts of weird shite.

Gah, how could I forget KMFDM!! Awesome industrial noise
XD It doesn’t surprise me coming from you guys…[/quote]
totally
I own Evanescence’s Fallen. Not a bad album, not that great either. The orchestral/piano bits are beautiful, as is Amy Lee’s voice, but the “metal” parts are boring. Lose Amy Lee and the orchestral bits, add some rapping, and you’ve got Linkin Park.
Evanescence
Black Sabbath
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Linkin Park
Group X (though they ain’t really music; they’re fake, but…)
Nine Inch Nails.
New Found Glory
My friend’s band, Youkai’s Hatred (I wrote a song or two for 'em, but do I get credit? No…)
