By the way, does anybody know the exact word they use in PDS for “monster”? As far as I remember, it sounded like “ko(u)sese” (Japanese pronunciation), but I don’t think that’s Japanese. Any idea?

Makes not a shred of difference to me.
However, several months later and the realitygauge.com site which had the supposed translations thus far on it is STILL not up. I suppose its about time for me to realise that I really do have nothing to work with… and give up on it, at least from this angle.
Regardless, I’m trying to learn Japanese now.
If I can manage that, learn Latin and scrape together what German I remember, I might be able to spawn some sort of bastardised tribrid language a bit like Panzereze in the distant future.

Well it should do.
German is a fun language.
It probably features some russian. Futatsugi-san said he took russian in highschool and latin is one of his hobbies. zastava means sentinel in russian for example. he said his idea was to make panzerese a “world language”, but he never figured out a proper grammar for it. he also mentioned that the panzerese in orta is way different than what he made up for the old games.
I suppose with a language that doesn’t have to be strictly functional and that kind of time-gap, changes in the actual style of the supposed language could be considered acceptable. Makes my job a hell of a lot harder though. I’ll never be able to learn Russian as well as all the rest.
I thought that it was pretty odd that Saga was almost all Japanese. But hell, I couldn’t tell the difference heh. I only figured it out while playing Combat Flight Simulator (pacific theater). The japanese pilots would say the same ‘yokai’ (or however it’s spelt, sorry) for affirmative.
they say “ryoukai” (了解). you can use it in standard business japanese as well, when I first heard it I thought it was pretty cheesy though.
It’s “Dena!” in Panzerese.
The only panzerese I know is sercoy (pronounced sir-coy) which means ‘amazing’
I’m fairly sure “keskuda” or something to that general extent means “die” … at least by Orta-era dialect…

yeah “sugoi” sounds pretty similar. but then again think of the way bib fortuna speaks in return of the jedi, it ounds more like wierd pidgin than an alien language
