Learning Panzereze

You can’t complete the language… you should just leave it as it is. I mean if you wanna learn whats done so far go ahead… but carry on making things up yourself? You might as well talk gibberish cos no one will have a clue what you’re on about

and :anjou_love: abadd =D

Yes but give yourself the best quality of life you can, even if it is irrelivant as the more fun you have while you’re here then the more you will enjoy your irrelivant little life.
And I fail to see how learning panzerse could possibly, give you a better quality of irrelivant life.
;p

Hey I’m not a frustrated guy and I wanted to learn D’ni (ya know ftorm the Myst games) a while back (D’ni IS full fledged tho…).There is nothing wrong with that.People often do useless things to keep themselves happy. In the end that’s what life is all about…Of course usefulness can be a pretty deep topic…

If I wanted to put it to any practical purpose then the language would need to be complete… and if I could get it done and get it appraised essentially as official then it would be all the better for anyone else who ever wanted to learn the language.
What really matters is the structure. The words themselves are comparitively minor.

the thing is… how many people will take your additions to the panzerese language as “official”…
no offence, but unless the creators of it (assuming its TA) completed it (or approved it i guess) and not just a general fan, I wouldn’t really regard it as part of the language…

Thats just it.
If I could get in contact with them in the first place and find out how they went about arranging what there already is of the language, getting in contact with them a second time to officialise it would be the next logical step… surely.
I couldn’t exactly officialise without their sayso.

Unfortunately, there is no single person (or even group of people) that is in charge of Panzerese. It’s put together on a fairly ad hoc basis.

And they’re all working on different projects now, so getting them to sit down and review additions to the language would prove to be… challenging.

Why not start learning Latin first, it’s 50% of the Panzerese Nouns. The other part would be Greek I guess. I’m not sure if Panzerese has a grammar, the creators are most likely Japanese, and Japanese is an agglutinating (is that the word abadd?) language that uses suffixes to alter the morphologic meaning… (see? I can talk Panzerese too =D

Japanese who don’t know a foreign language tend to use words “as is” and think they will be understood without any extra modification. That’s why no Japanese bothers that pop singers throw in random english words in their japanese texts. They don’t undestand the words, but noone would think that it’s not gramatically correct or something.

sekai ha katamaru to shiny star… (not a good example because it actually makes sense in a way)

So I guess Panzerese too probably has no grammar. What’s the point in learning a language that consist only as a lump of nouns and verbs and doesn’t have the capability of conditional for example. intelligel?

Isn’t a lot of Panzerse gibberish as well?
I thought a good deal of the “words” were just the voice actors making up crap in-between the random words from different languages.

Sighs

Well… if it proves impossible, then I’ll be finding that out for myself, won’t I?
It probably will come as a fair disappointment if I am heading down a no-through road though.

They definately all have a purpose.

I am worried sometimes that the language might not be consistant… in that similar things, which would have similarities and should have similarities, come out completely different. I have worried that it might not actually work…
It does have to be tested.

If you think about this rationaly for more than a few seconds, you come to realise that it is rediculous. The stuff in the games probably constitutes about 0.0000000005% of a language. You’ve got literaly BUGGER ALL to go on!

How usefull will phrases like:
I’m going to the tower

You bastard, I swear i will defeat the empire

Mum, it’s shit on the frontier, activate unit one

actually be?

I think you’re being short sighted and, dare I say it, you’re acting like one of those stupid, lunatic fan people.

ROFL
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Another thing, If you really did contact the former “Team Andromeda” staff, and ask them to help you learn Panzerse.

Do you not kind of get the feeling that they’d tell you to f*ck off?

the wouldn’t do that because they are very kind people actually. but they’d simply ignore him, that’s the japanese way.

Bladiblah.

Thank you for ruining the joke.

Btw, just because it’s the Japanese way, it does not mean all Japanese are the same.

Don’t stereotype - it’s annoying.

It’s like these people who think all UK football fans are tossers just because a few of the English ones like to kife and gun eachother.

He didn’t ruin the joke, he simply played along. You on the other hand succeeded in ruining the whole giggly atmosphere by being patronising over nothing and without knowing anything about the persons involved.

yeah, cool down.

hahaha :anjou_love:

and listen to Al3x

Yes, but what you need to understand is that I have been a long time poster at GameFAQs and Sega.com, where the people don’t get jokes - and take everything as literal meaning.
Therefore I am programmed to be patronising by default to anyone who reacts in any manner to anything I say.
