Immortel and Mirrormask

Immortel trailer

edit: maybe i should mention the odd bit of adult content?

the only mirrormask trailers i can find are low quality streaming ones :frowning:

anyone heard of either?

MirrorMask centers on Helena, a 15 year old girl in a family of circus entertainers, who often wishes she could run off and join real life. After a fight with her parents about her future plans, her mother falls quite ill and Helena is convinced that it is all her fault. On the eve of her mother’s major surgery, she dreams that she is in a strange world with two opposing queens, bizarre creatures, and masked inhabitants. All is not well in this new world - the white queen has fallen ill and can only be restored by the MirrorMask, and it’s up to Helena to find it. But as her adventures continue, she begins to wonder whether she’s in a dream, or something far more sinister.

it’s from the jim henson studios and to me it looks like a much more tripped out Labrynth for a new generation - minus the bowie :frowning:

What if Egypt never got conquered by the Romans? And what if the Egyptian civilization continued to thrive until this day - with Gods walking among us and their colossal technological teachings were bestowed upon us? Immortel is based on Enki Bilal’s (who also directed the film) phenomenal "The Nikopol Trilogy. The three graphic novels take place in Paris of 2023 and is beautifully executed. Immortel, the film, was made the same way Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was made - by the use of filming the actors almost or totally against blue screen and have the CGI elements created later. The movie was completely previsualized in 3D, making it the first movie ever to do it, before a frame was even shot. Not surprisingly, Immortel contains over 1,160 digital effects shots and quickly rivals most U.S. films. Heck, even the majority of the cast were all done in CGI (except for like 5 or 6 human actors, everyone else are all CGI rendered).

the idea i get from the trailer is that:

  1. the god horus is being put on trial by the other gods and he has to go to the human world and do something to keep his immortality.

  2. there’s a mysterious girl with blue hair with a mysterious power.

  3. there’s a guy with a mechanical guy who gets possessed by horus.

it bears some resemblence to the fifth element.

tripp’d out.

You come over here and you start talking about things without any introduction…

Is MirrorMask a movie/game?

Immortel?

they are both movies. there are clues to both of them being movies in the text. sorry for any confusion!
