Happy Al3xand3r

I just wanted to share this with someone, I finally got an offer to work for a real (if not so very known) gaming website as mainly a news editor. The website is American but the wage is similar to that of a decent job in my area even after the currency conversion. I’m just happy, I don’t know if I should write details before they’re even finalised so that’s all I’m going to say but, God knows I was starting to give up and consider settling down with jobs I hate (namely my current Job @ the IRS) so I’m excited beyond description even though it’s not related to any current colossus of the industry. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks guys. Well, it’s pretty much set in stone now, I’m just waiting for the admin to set up an account for me and show me the ropes of submitting a story with whatever system it is they use. It might take a while since their responses were pretty slow previously even though they seemed excited with my bio and samples but, whatever, it’s all good. Anyway, this is the place, yay!

Congratulations! :anjou_happy:

Thanks :anjou_embarassed:

Grats matey.

I’d aim for something in the same vein myself if I wasn’t so hopelessly addicted to WoW. Maybe one day!

Congrats Al3x! Try not to smear M$ too too much eh? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hooray! :anjou_happy:

Nice one compadre. All the luck to you in your new endeavour

I just wanted to say congratulations, Al3x. It’s a great feeling to get a job doing something that you enjoy.

No reason why you can’t do both. Just limit your WoWing to 2 or 3 nights a week and you’ll easily have time for other things.

I forgot to post my congratulations! Well done, Alex. I hope the job is exciting!

Hahaha!

Congratulations Al3x!

Never forget your roots! If in doubt, always strive to spin the bias in favor of Lagi and Lundi :anjou_happy:

Congratulatiohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohho!

Woooo!

Wee, got my first testing-the-waters-posts up, off to bed.

I didn’t know that GameCyte existed until you posted the link. It’s certainly got a nice layout.

I didn’t know it existed until I saw the job postings. I mean, I’ve done (little) work for shit like thegamereviews.com and you can see those go nowhere (just realised their layout is a friggin template also used by thatgamesite.com), but I think GameCyte has the potential to be of Kotaku or RockPaperShotgun caliber, eventually.

It seems to be of decent quality, the pay is decent, some staff like Mary Kare seem well experienced and pretty damn good, much better than me, so it should be a good place for me to work.

I’m not starting my full monthly quota goals until the start of December by the way, but I put some posts up daily already (remove the author stuff from the url for main page).

nice work al3x! it’s good to see someone getting involved into something they like

haha x2, solo doesn’t understand
luckily, i’m quite poor, so i can’t afford WoW - i can only play about 1 month a year. but in that month my eating, training, etc turns into a pile of rubbish. =(

Try single player games if the gameplay’s what makes you lose your sleep. I’m finding King’s Bounty: The Legend addictive currently. If the social side is what keeps you up (but I’d guess less so, since you only play occasionally) then I guess such games can’t help :stuck_out_tongue:
