Haha, I saw this and rushed to see if it was you who had written the article XD

I wrote the Fallout 3 part. I think the quoted part is a little misleading. I don’t think the guy meant they’re bad games. Just that, if a teen is a fan of the games, he already likely had them on launch day. Therefor buying something “Halo” would likely be a duplicate. Not a bad choice. I guess he took it from the “parents” viewpoint who won’t know that much about games?

Anyway, each game non-recommendation was written by a different author, I suppose the author of the main article should have taken extra care to make sure each recommendation is seen from the right view point. My part had trouble in the comments area, but that was to be expected

Should have posted this earlier…

Congratualtions Al3xand3r!!! All the best in your new job! ^-^

luckily, i’m quite poor, so i can’t afford WoW - i can only play about 1 month a year. but in that month my eating, training, etc turns into a pile of rubbish. =([/quote]

I played WoW for a few months, but I never got addicted to the game. Perhaps it takes a certain type of gamer. It does take a lot of time to get anywhere in the game though, which is one reason why I quit.

Perhaps if you could afford to subscribe to it all year round you won’t feel the need to play it so much in one go. Or perhaps you would become even more absorbed in it…

In any case, WoW is like alcohol… you can still live a balanced life and make good use of your time if you consume it in moderation.

Alternatively, you can pay malnourished Korean children to power level your characters.

In the same way you could buy a car, and then just ask someone else to drive around in it.

Online gaming is all about the friends you make, and friendship becomes an addiction.

There’s nothing wrong with that!

BRB!

After a year and a half long absence from WOW, I attempted to dwelve into it again. I actually got to level 37…

Then I grew bored and gave up.

Fair enough. Everyone likes to make friends.

I might have come across as if I was implying that WoW was a waste of time. If you enjoy playing it, that’s certainly not the case.

Depends what you want to do with your time. If you’re happy spending all of your spare time playing World of Warcraft, there’s nothing wrong with that. I guess my point was that if you want to write professionally (or even just for fun), there’s no reason why you can’t do that and still play WoW. It’s easy to have dreams or make plans and get in the habit of saying “I’ll do that one day”… I know because I’m very good at it.

If you really do want to write, you can do it.

I wouldn’t call it easy, but doable
It certainly can affect my writing time when I get more into a particular game, as is the case with King’s Bounty: The Legend currently… Instead of writing during my day time, I ended up writing at nights because I spent the day playing, but that’s okay when working @ home for employers overseas
