Unquestionably, Viva Pinata 2 must be added to my list.
Unquestionably, Viva Pinata 2 must be added to my list.
I still have a copy of the first one on my shelf, could never get into it, but could never get myself to get rid of it. One of these days I’ll go back to it and probably end up playing a monster session.
The new Footage of Mirrors Edge just blew my mind , I haven?t seen anything quite like it . I?m almost ashamed to say I fancy the female lead character :anjou_embarassed:
Ninja Gaiden 2

Anything Phoenix Wright…
For the record, I’m trying to play games less often now. And I still got a lot of titles in my games collection to finish, so should I see these titles? I don’t know…
Buh byes
Please say the new Fallout will be released on computer(I don’t see why not, anyway).
Siren will have a sequel? I was disappointed by Siren. I found it failed to capture the magic of Fatal Frame 2.
New Fallout is for every platform Oblivion was and it seems… just as… meh…
Hmm. I think Fallout will be more focused than Oblivion’s “go anywhere do anything” gameplay. Of course I liked Oblivion too.
The Siren game will be the third to be released, Siren 2 was out on PS2 and I would really only recommend it to fans of the original Siren. Now that you mention it I would be delighted to see a Fatal Frame game for PS3.
There are too many acton-orientated games out now, I would like to see more explorative, story-based games. Surely we need no more FPS’s for the next ten years?
Ah, me and my rants…
P.S. I want a CSI game out for PS3 too! rant rant
Why would you think so? If anything it’s even more about that since apparently they’re removing some of the directions in order to make it feel a bit more involving when you discover things yourself or whatever… A good move I suppose, but it’s a minor detail compared to the rest of the stuff they have to achieve…
Making it linear or something would have been yet another stab to the original series which was as freeform as anything that came out before or since.
Of course, I don’t think Bethesda can do either style decently anymore, I wasn’t a fan of Oblivion and imo it took the few good things of Morrowind to the wrong direction. The combat system of F3 also sounds ridiculous and I doubt it will even be much fun. Bethesda couldn’t even get a solid fantasy setting right and now they’re trying something completely different but while being in the same mindset as with their past games…
Seriously, instead of trying to have more quality and varied stuff now for example they announce characters can call each other by name… I can already imagine it sadly, “Hey there - - Mary - </end of cut> - I saw some radscorps by the lake!” and it’s not pretty. They simply don’t know when to stop trying to implement or improve new technologies and just focus on making good use of what they already have.
Quality content is what makes a good RPG, that’s why F3 is not the first in the list I posted (or anywhere in it), and a game with a much smaller budget and next to no technical innovations or evolutions is. Don’t give me technical mumbo jumbo, just show me you will try to improve Oblivion’s weaknesses by telling me that you hired better/more writers instead of better voice actors.
I wish they hadn’t licenced Fallout, it’s not like they needed it as their fans would buy this regardless… I also hate how they try to make their critics sound like all they’re saying is “it’s not isometric and it’s not turn based so it will suck” because that’s too far from the truth. Those statements were just fears before people knew much of the game. The fears came true but people grew past that and focus on rational discussions about various aspects of the game Bethesda’s making as opposed to the game they wanted.
I think we need an F3 thread.
Pass.
Give me Bioware any day of the week. I miss my Baldur’s Gate and Planescape(not really Bioware, but you get the idea).
Read up on Age of Decadence, I’m sure you’ll grow to anticipate its release just as I have. Perhaps the designer disagrees with Bioware on many different levels but I do feel the end result will be enjoyable to fans of Bioware (including myself). A lot more than Bethesda’s stuff at least. I do agree with some of his arguments anyway, for example how he may have less dialogue options implemented but they’ll mostly lead to different outcomes instead of be “flavour options” as seen in Bioware’s games where the outcome can be identical regardless of the “tone” the response was given.
So maybe it’s not a “sandbox” or “open world” game (even though Fallout games are one of their inspirations) but it gives freedom in different ways which imho are preffered over filler generic procedural content that gets repetitive 1/3rd of the way through… The Roman-esque setting is also cool, as is the anorthodox way they handle character backgrounds, professions, etc.
I used to think the game is a valiant effort that will most certainly fail but the more information they release (with some excellent “let’s play…” threads where a developer plays through a part of the game chosing to do the things fans want to in the forum thread), the more I’m condifent about the end result’s quality. The combat video posted was also quite impressive and missing nothing visually compared to the likes of older RPGs like NWN. Not that I would mind so much if it did…
Their forums contain much more information and previews of armor sets, various areas or whatever they’re creating and fan input on most everything but the core values and ideals of the lead designer seems to be taken under careful consideration after sensible dialogues.
Edited for typos and crap.
I’m looking forward to Dark Void for the 360… steampunk + jetpacks = GREAT JUSTICE!
Popping in to add Space Siege to my list. I hated Dungeon Siege but it looks like they’re getting it right this time around…

Combat looks like actual fun while they might even be investing in some story this time… This trailer is much better than their last one too.
I traded in a bunch of stuff I’ve never been partial to and fully paid off my pre-order for the Limited Edition of MGS4. I’m so excited all of a sudden. As I usually do with Metal Gear, I’ve avoided pretty much ANY mention of the thing ever since that first 15-minute trailer nearly two years ago. I freaking LOVE MGS. Some of my best gaming memories ever are housed within the previous installments (especially the first two) and Solid Snake’s grand finale is just too big for me to miss. MGS has been too big a part of my life for the past decade.
How do you know it’s his grand finale just from that 15 mins trailer
