How does that fit to the topic… And why do you only want to hear from people that agree with you
because some people don’t like to get into arguments like we do Al3x lol jk but I don’t see how it fits either, maybe he just misunderstood what the topic was
Games I find to be underrated… Hrm…
Gun Valkyrie - A pretty enjoyable game. Not absolutely fantastic, but I think it should’ve received a bit more attention and positive reviews than it did.
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special - To me, this game was the best in the Fatal Fury series, and, in my opinion, the best game the company had made. Of course, I’m referring to the Saturn edition. Most people who play it seem to like it, but I just wish it would’ve gotten more attention than Street Fighter, considering it’s a much more enjoyable game.
Armada - A simplistic game, but I think it didn’t get enough attention… I found it to be very fun and have spent many hours flying around space, blowing up aliens and such.
Deus Ex: Invisible War - I’m going to have to agree about this one. I found the game to be a lot of fun, and the ties it had with the original were interesting. Given, it was different, and some of the cool aspects of the original were removed, but I believe that just about everything (movies, CDs, games) has to be judged by it’s own merits rather than comparing it to somethign else.
Last Blade 2 - This game was also very fun. It got some attention, but again, this is a fighter that I found very enjoyable and think should’ve had more people talking about it.
Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain - While this game receives good reviews, I think it’s usually ignored in favor of it’s 3D follow ups. It had it’s bug issues, but it was a very cool game with a wonderfully dark atmosphere.
Omikron - The Nomad Soul - Maybe this game tried to achieve too much or something. I just know that it was a really cool game that had some really interesting elements, and posed a bit of a challenge. I rather liked it.
Sword Of the Berserk - Guts’ Rage - I thought this game ruled, to be honest. It was a lot of fun, though mostly “mindless” gameplay. It received mixed reviews, but I think it’s pretty cool, no less.
That’s about all I can think of at the moment, even though that is a bit of a long list. Ah well.
Most SNK fighting games are underrated in that they don’t get as much attention as Capcom’s stuff. Still, within SNK fans, Last Blade 2 is definitelly regarded as being a great game. You should take a look at Garou - Mark of the Wolves btw (or was it Wolf). The animation is mind blowing. Last Blade 2 was great but Garou tops it by quite a bit.
I disagree about DX:IW, it was very flawed. Granted, it could be fun if you got into it but that doesn’t make it a great game that should be thought of as criminally underrated when it wasn’t really anything special. Many many flaws.
On top of that, on release time it got some pretty raving reviews which made a lot of people buy it and then rush to the forums to trash it. So, regardless of being good or bad it definitely received a lot of attention.
Omikron, well, similar to the above, good but flawed. Maybe a sequel would be great if they fixed it up but I wouldn’t consider the first one a worthy purchase now…
Blood omen isn’t being ignored, it got its fair share of attention back in the day… But it’s VERY old by now so people will obviously talk about the newer ones. I don’t think anyone has talked about a top down-ish 2D game - which was’t made for a portable - since the days of Alundra on the PSOne… I still remember the page layout of the GamePro (I used to buy magazines then) Blood Omen review for some reason even though I never got the game… I think it got a pretty good score on that anyway.
IM A GIRL DER METZGERMEISTER
Well, I do have Garou: Mark of the Wolves, actually, and it’s a great game. A lot of fun, though I still prefer Real Bout Fatal Fury Special… Though that may be because of the memories I have of my days playing that game.
