Best SEGA games ever

The compulsory opposite topic. What is/are the best game[s] Sega has ever produced?

Both threads are pretty tough to answer :stuck_out_tongue:

PDS. Someone has to say it. :anjou_embarassed:

Skies of Arcadia
Panzer Dragoon Series
Virtua Fighter 4
Jet Set Radio Future

PDS, by far.

Apart from the Pandra series :

Burning Rangers
Shenmue 2
Virtua Fighter 2/Fighters Megamix
NIGHTS

From my perspective, PDS, and NiGHTS
However the Sonic series is of course the favourite imo, not now however. Sonic Heroes? Pah.

Mh, yeah. Sonic 3 & Knuckles, aka the true Sonic 3 also comes close on my list. :anjou_happy:

Let’s hope that that new Sonic game they announced will do better than Heroes…-_-

What new Sonic game?

And…

Panzer Dragoon Saga
Shining Force III
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
NiGHTS
Shenmue I + II
Sonic Adventure

Are there not two?

The new 3D Sonic game that Yuji Naka announced would arrive on the GameCube by the end of 2005. Interested? >:)

Apparently, there is a DS one in the works as well, although I don’t see any evidence on the page where it’s mentioned at SegaXtreme: http://forums.segaxtreme.net/index.php?showtopic=15207

I wish they’d make a Sonic game where you actually play Sonic most of the time. :anjou_sigh:

Give us fun, fast and challenging levels. No damned hunting, no damned mechs, just SONIC! BRING BACK SUPER SONIC! XD

I think Sonic Adventure 2 really would have been awesome if we’d played as Sonic and Shadow for the majority of the time. That’s what I call a wasted/missed opportunity.

Vaguely off topic, but here’s what Naka apparently said in the magazine; I’m not sure if the transcription’s 100% accurate, but I’d assume it’s accurate enough:

Sonic Team head, Yuji Naka, revealed two new Sonic the Hedgehog games for Nintendo in an exclusive interview with NOM in London at the end of last year.

“We are in development with a new GameCube Sonic game, which we hope to release before the end of 2005,” Naka exclusively revealed to us. “Sonic Team is also currently making a Sonic game for the DS. We are taking our time to make sure the game makes good use of the DS’s many new features.” Double whammy!

We pressed for details and Naka revealed that the DS game will incorporate parts of the screen-rubbing Sonic tech-demo shown at E3 last year. Naka expects both titles to be playable at this year’s E3 and, as always, we’ll be there to see it all.

Pick up NOM UK next month for the full interview, where Yuji Naka reveals his secret conversations with Shigeru Miyamoto about getting Sonic and Mario to appear in a game together. No, you are not dreaming.

Not in the slightest.

I’ve just posted a seperate topic for Sonic discussion so that this one doesn’t go too far off topic. =P

Sonic Sonic Sonic…if they want to make succesful Gamecube games so much just give us a Skies of Arcadia 2 please!!

From what i’ve read SoA Legends didn’t sell too badly.

As far as I know about the Sonic DS game (w00t ordered my DS - and yes I live in England and yes, it’s gonna be a European DS - good old Ninty offers on their site…)

Anyways - Sonic DS, involves rubbing the screen back and forth, therefore making Sonic run and collect rings…then he reaches the end. The faster you rub, the better the time :anjou_wow:
And you thought Heroes was too bad.

Best Sega games:

PD series
Shining Force III
Shining the Holy Ark
NiGHTS
Sonic 3 & Knuckles

Sonic Heroes has special stages. They’re kind of like the ones in Sonic 2.

Anyway, my favourite Sega games are:

The 2D Sonic Platform Game Series (Sonic 1 - Knuckles, CD, and Sonic Advance 1 - 3 mainly (haven’t really played Chaotix))
The Panzer Dragoon series
Camelot’s Shining Force series
Skies of Arcadia
Jet Set Radio
NiGHTS

I didn’t even bother with Heroes. Played the PC demo and I had enough.
What purpose did they serve in the game?

I’m not sure actually; possibly chaos emeralds. I haven’t finished the game yet, the gameplay is so frustrating… :anjou_sigh:
