Remember what happened to Grig Orig? Even after it’s crew was dead, the biomonsters fused and infested its bowels, and it became deadlier than ever.

This is a similar situation. That being if you consider the Grig Orig to be a thread, and the biomonsters to be spam.

Not entirely related, but it made me think of that.
