サターンの半透明は実はコストの他にスプライトの形状でモワレが出たりスクロール面とは演算出来なかったりでそんな簡単ではなかったのだけど

So, even though the shading is semi-transparent, addition calculations cannot be performed, so even though I am a new employee, I asked the designer to make it semi-transparent.
The translucency of the Saturn was actually not that easy, not only because of the cost but also because the shape of the sprite caused moire and it could not be calculated with the scroll surface.

I love things like these, it’s really neat reading a developer talk about a game they’ve worked in and some of the behind the scenes.

Wish there would be more instances like these more often.

Cool thread! The part about his mother not liking Mel-Kava is hilarious! Maybe she kept getting pushed back by the projectiles causing her to exit the ship LoL!

Thanks so much for this Solo. I love reading stuff from the old Saturn teams. I so wished SEGA never closed down TA and would have loved to have seen their next game they were working on.
