Your most embarassing Panzer moment

Come on, own up!

Mine was when I first got the Sega Saturn Magazine demo of Panzer Dragoon Saga. I had only had my 3D NiGHTS Controller for a little while and I didn’t occur to me that I was meant to be using the analog to control Edge at the start rather than D-Pad. I’d previously been playing a game of Tomb Raider which used the D-Pad to control Lara, but it still had to be set to analog for triggers to work properly.

So I sat there, trying to move Edge around with every single button apart from the analog thumbstick for almost 10 minutes! Then I suddenly realized that there was this other analog there which I’d completely ignored for the last few games because they hadn’t used it. Even though no one was watching, it was rather embarrassing that I’d taken so long to figure out why Edge wasn’t moving. :anjou_embarassed:

Mine was with the Dragon full bar power. Not the berserk. The power.

Only when I played the game for the second time did I perceive why my dragon was healing itself (while in Normal moprh) when in fact I wasn’t really doing anything. That and the Attack Wing’s counterattack.

For me, it was probably not realising that the characters were speaking Japanese (rather than Panzerese) in PDS… the sad part is that I probably still wouldn’t know if I hadn’t started looking into PD on the net.

Also, I had immense difficulty beating Abadd’s Mare at the end of PDO the first time I played through the game, because it took me so long to realise that you could counter its lock-on lasers with your own.

Watching my theory of “No prism trap if Atolm has lost any satellites” dissappear down the toilet as Lagi took an assload of damage (I play 200PWR/200 AGL) and died instantly.

I didn’t know Solo wing could morph like the rest of the wings (except light) until i came onto this website lol.
Im thought i tried when i had solo in the game and it didnt work but i must have been wrong, silly me.
Up to present date i still havn’t morphed Solo wing, only on start of Disk 3 this time of going through. Trying to get Excellent ratings against every enemy.

Yeah just like Lance, I also at first, thought everyone was speaking panzerese in PDS. It took me a while to realize they were speaking Japanese. :anjou_sigh:

Fighting Atolm in the third and final battle and being a cocky player and flying in front of him and he blasted me out of the sky like nothing.

It was the only time I died in that game…

Well, it’s not really a moment, but I’m pretty embarrassed that I never beat PD1 without cheating until like a year ago.

who would have thought getting water out of a river would be the MOST HAZARDOUS OCCUPATION ON THE PLANET?

Having to spend almost $200 on PDS on eBay.

I am officially a nerd. The end.

I died once or twice in PDS.

I also bought the OVA.

Don’t remember anything drastic. I think Drenholm killed me the first time through when I was pissing about with dragon types.

buying enemy zero instead of PDS when it came out and having to spend lots of quids to get it off ebay.

I don’t really have any embarrassing moments.

I feel so left out. :anjou_sad:

Panzer Dragoon Zwei - not knowing how to use lock-on lasers :anjou_angry:
In my defence, it was on the Sega Flash disc and the description of the controls aren’t exactly brilliant.

Panzer Dragoon Saga - I started when I was waaaay too little to understand all the controls and I couldn’t even get passed the Parasetic Queen thing right at the beginning :anjou_embarassed: I gave up for a few years and came back to it, when I could understand the manual, only to feel embarressed that I couldn’t even get passed the beginning ><

Oh yeah, that reminds me. The very first time I rented PD1 I had no idea about the lock-on lasers (didn’t come with instructions). Lemme tell you, that makes the game a LOT harder.

Ha, I mastered Episode 3 without lock-on lasers…damn that was hard! Did make me a whole lot better at the game in general though…still embarrising ><

Oh yeah, I had the same problem. I got up to the Golia at the end and I couldn’t seem to damage it that much. That and I found dodging projectiles from the side to be hard (didn’t know you could shoot them away!).

Mastering the Lock on lasers really opens the game up though. Except in PD1 Ep 5. URGH.

Well my dad coundn’t get past the lift area at the start of the game…
I didn’t realise there was a dragon crest at the start of the game until i read Lance’s Different Dragons FAQ about a month ago. (Still havn’t actually checked it out)

First time i played through the game, i had no idea what levels were (reached the end at about level 44), Plus i never morphed my dragon once. I used sniper attachment all the way through for my gun. I had no idea how to get into the red ruins till i read arcies guide (never knew there was an entrance at the top, i thought i checked ^_^;
I think i died a few times too… but can’t remember where…

One particularly embarrassing scenario I recall was, after an unquantifable magnitude of labour, finally triumphing against the adversity of the Ancient Age and quashing the insane and despicable global homogenisation pursued by Sestren… and then accidentally pressing “START” on my controller and skipping the end sequence.

Whoops. :anjou_embarassed:

Another more recent episode concerned a trip to Laser Quest - usually I name myself “Regal Sega”, but because it usually only provokes mumbles of “yerwha?” from the staff I took on the name “Panzer” - only for it to mutate, like the Baldor, into “Dancer” by the second game. :anjou_sigh:

There’s also me humming the tune to “Sona Mi Areru Ec Sanctitu” to myself in a shopping centre, only to realise that I was louder than I thought I was… :anjou_wow:
