What a pleasnt surprise to log into XBOX Live and find Konami has continued their “greatet hits” catalog with one of my FAVORITE classic arcade games…

If there are two games, historically speaking, that Capcom were strongly influenced by when crafting the Street Fighter series, I’d have to say :
Karate Champ
and
Yie Ar Kung-Fu

Come on, who doesn’t love “Buchu” the amazing flying fat bald guy?
…and where the former set the player vs. player 2-round standard, Yie Ar Kung-Fu played on the concept of “unique” challengers each with unique looks and fighting styles.
I think this title, as simple as it may be, has aged EXTREMELY well, and is as fun on XBLA as it is on MAME, Gameboy Advance, PS1 or any other compiliation that it may have appeard on over the years.
(And if you’ve ONLY played an import or ROM of the Famicom version … put that out of your mind, as that 4-color version was a JOKE compared to the arcade version.)
