We are led to believe it died pretty much like Prototype D in PD1 or the Guardian in Zwei.

Good question. Abadd needed to be put in his proper place anyway. It doesn’t look like the Ancients designed Abadd his own dragon in the first place. Still, that’s something the creators could have left open for a future game if Abadd survived…
