Was "Flight" inspired by "Bastian's Happy Flight"?

I was reading the comments below this piece of music from The NeverEnding Story (1984) and came across this:

Sega’s Panzer Dragoon brought me here. The iconic “Flight” song from that game unmistakably takes a lot of inspiration from this gem of a song!

What do you think? I wouldn’t be surprised if Flight and the ending of Saga were both inspired by the film.

They sound somewhat similar but the PD track sounds different enough to stand on its own. But they do have some similar instruments or notes? The Episode 1 track is actually my favorite piece of music in the first PD game!
