Oh, you mean the part where the Guardian Dragon is in the cocoon? Yeah, it is really hard to dodge the multitude of stuff he’s chucking at you at that point. In fact, I would almost say that that particular battle is on a parallel with the actual final battle, if not harder.

ot - I was trying Orta with Keyboard and mouse, it’s works, and I wouldn’t cross out that someone could get used to it if they tried… as it is I personally wouldn’t bother but it is a novelty heh. Tried it with other games aswell - except fighting/racing etc. games cos that would be stupid :E

Considering that you can get some insane multipliers with the lock-on (12xvalue of the target x 12 if you shoot 12 targets at once), it doesn’t seem that unlikely.
Yeah, I have seen people play Layer Section 1 and 2 in the arcades here (uh, raystorm and rayforce in the arcades?) which feature a very similar lock on style gameplay and some of the things I have watched people do to get those mulipliers must be seen to be belived.
Out of interest, were I to knock up a thread/page for a general high score ranking for PDZ and maybe orta as well, would anyone be interested in it? This is a really fun thread but the 100% winged death only thing is pretty exclusively totally insanely good experts only really.

Those runs must be Pandora’s Box runs in super hard difficulty. I tried yesterday with the following setup
- Skydart from Ep 1
- BCG laser (the one with 9 lock crosshairs)
- Homing gun
- Increase berserk (never used it anyway)
- Increase life
- Pause menu to alter the crosshair speed
I had a good Winged Death run but there is room for improvement and got 1.9 million as an overall score. Also, I never used the berserk except ep 6 boss for which I missed the time bonus anyway. Two million is definitely possible. In some levels I got higher scores than those reported on the PDA. Note that the the hardest route is not necessarily the more rewarding scorewise. For example, route 1 on ep 3 can easily give you 350k points when playing with the setup I used, in super hard you get something like 8 pairs of worms each worth 1800 multiplied by the lock ons of the final blow plus 10000?3 after the first 4 and then every other two I think.
However, I do agree that a qualifiable score should be something done in normal mode and that gets saved up in the Player Data screen. Not sure whether the run would have to be a Winged Death and 24 evo point one, as I said before some lesser route can give you more points and
