According to Bloomberg SegaSammy’s profits for the first half of the fiscal year has actually doubled to 18 billion yen. SegaSammy has said this was due to the rising sales of higher margin products.
Well it does seem now that Sega is stable more than ever. This means to me that they can at least take the risk of releasing SHENMUE 3 or dare i say it a new PANZER DRAGOON RPG.
What’s Y18 billion in US$ or UK?? I never got the hang of the yen.
Sounds good though. I doubt they will release a borderline product right now though; if their profits are rising, it would be best if they maintained their tactics for a while longer, before taking a gamble or two.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up for Shenmue III or Panzer Dragoon yet. I’m not sure if I even want a SAGA II at the mo.
I so fear that will mark the end of the series , and I’m just not ready to face that just yet SEGA.
Happy more than anything to see SEGA doing well.
Great to see the staff efforts being rewarded (shame it didn’t happen in DC days, but there u go).
With these sorts of profits, There?s no reason why we can?t see more Arcade ports .
That?s what I really want to see (6 months after the Arcade ).
Plus its high time we got to see a Rally III inthe Arcade and then for it being ported to the home with full LIVE play.
I’m sosick of the cluess casuals going about SONY and GT.
SEGA make the best racers bar none
Well whatever Sega has planned they’re ready to at least show a bit to the fans if the last three major event shows was any indication.
I think were gonna see a lot of return of old games anyhow.
As for racers, ignore them they don’t know what they’re talking about and are the usual cannon fodder for the guys at the arcades when fools like that think they can challenge them in a game like INITIAL D.

F335 is more of a sim, than GT could ever hope to be.
Shame SEGA doesn’t go back tothe game. And add in a full qualifying and LIVE modes , and maybe some other classic Ferrari cars .
I must say that SEGA GT was almost there, on the XBox .
It was just 20% from being the perfect driving games.
Feel sorry for Kenic Imaeda and the rest of the SEGA GT 2002 Team ,
they’ll never get any respect thier Work so richly deservers.
Would love SEGA to push the boat out and make the ultimate racer to get their crown back on SONY (not that they ever lost it, in the 1st place).
A game where Arcade and homes users could link up over the Internet to play HH games, and home users could take their Hard Drive down to the Arcade and download their data.
For its to have all the tracks from all the SEGA GT series of games (even the DC one) and classic tracks for Manx TT, Daytona , Rally ect, and the Carrozzeria mode from SEGA GT
For you to unlock classic ports of SEGA Arcade racers (Like super Monaco, Le Mans ) , and even a mode when you’ll be able to unlockthe cars parked inside the SEGA Japan car park (seen some top cars there).Just got mad and make the ultimate racer
