Sega continues to buck the trend

Sega Sammy Holdings has bucked the trend of its contemporaries in the games space with an annual net income boost of 31 per cent.
In the company?s financials for the fiscal year ended March 31st, Sega Sammy?s year-on-year net profits were up to 66.2 billion yen compared to the previous year?s 50.6bn yen.

Operating profits in the consumer games division also shot up, with the firm recovering from an 8.8bn yen loss in last year?s results to a healthy 2bn yen this year.

The profits come even after the acquisition of developers Sports Interactive and Secret Level earlier this year.

The positive results led to lofty expectations of 75bn yen on net profit and sales of 682bn yen for the coming financial year
