Saturn and Dreamcast emulators?

Does anyone know if there’re ever likely to be any good ones? My Saturn can’t last forever. And I used to have a DC with a games collection I was really proud of until my student home got broken into and they nicked the whole caboodle. I’d dearly love to play SoA again without having to buy a 2nd hand DC which will probably die in a few years anyway.

Would love to play 4-player Powerstone 2 and Rush 2049, too, but I think those days are probably over.

I know there’re a couple of Saturn ones out there, but the review websites all seem to think they’re fairly weak. IIRC last time I checked if there were any DC emulators at all they were also considered rubbish.

I haven’t actually tried it, but SSF is supposed to be one of the better Saturn emulators out there.

I seem to remember a decent Dreamcast emulator existing, but I can’t quite put my finger on the name of it.

If you’ve got a Gamecube, or are planning on getting a Wii, you could play Skies of Arcadia Legends on either of those platforms.

Chankast. Sadly, it seems that development stopped long ago and while it run Shenmue and Headhunter nicely back when I tried it (atleast a year ago using the original discs mind you), I’m sure that it still had the odd error or crash happen…

NG emu is (or was) a pretty good website about emulator news in general so check it every so often for updates on the Saturn develppments.

If it was the same game I might get one for that reason alone (if I had the money… sighs)

But a big part of the appeal for me was SoA DC’s music.

Jebus, I had no idea they were so processor-hungry!
