Rise of Humanity

Abadd was doing something he thought his masters would approve.

The Dragon on the other hand knows it’s going against the TWOTA…

And yes that theory has been talked about before, that maybe the dragon saw that the malfunctioning Towers would never regenerate the environment fully and that the Ancients’ plans had gone all wrong/impossible cos of that so he decided to free mankind from the ancient spell by destroying the Towers… It’s possible.

Come agehn?

the dragon knows that’s part of the will of the ancients.

What are you talking about? The dragon specifically says he wants to “free mankind from the ancient spell” That statement coupled with Sestren calling him on betraying the TWOTA show he’s aware that he’s going against the Ancients…
Do you actually believe that when we went through the games we were just pawns of the Ancients and completed the dragon’s original objective exactly the Ancients had assigned to it?

Abadd on the other hand was trying to stay loyal to his Ancient masters, just in the wrong way…

That’s just it.You think Abadd was not serving TWOTA?How so?

Abbad thought he was fulfilling the Will of the Ancients, but in reality the Ancients would never have wanted him to create a new race of Drones.

Ok… decide what your problem with what I say is, is it about the dragon or about Abadd?

About Abadd now: He couldn’t complete his main mission. He couldn’t server the TWOTA anymore. Any action after that is NOT serving TWOTA, it’s doing an alternative that he THOUGHT his masters would approve. Get a hold of Orta and start creating drones or whatever he had in mind. Do you think the Ancients would have approved that? Frankly I don’t think they’d give a shit what would happen if they died… They didn’t want to die and didn’t plan anything for that case, that’s why Abadd doesn’t really know what to do after his main mission proves to be impossible.

I’m talking about Abbad’s primary coordinates - to revive his masters. That is part of TWOTA.

I never said his main mission wasn’t part of the TWOTA… I was replying to T’LAN who said things like “the abillity for a drone to think self awaringly” for Abadd and all I said was that Abadd did NOT become self aware, he was STILL a loyal slave to the Ancients even tho he COULD NOT complete his main mission (Which was obviously part of TWOTA) but what he decided to do after that was not something the Ancients would have wanted at all… He’s not going against the TWOTA since the TWOTA propably mentioned nothing about possibilities like this but he’s not doing anything FOR twota either since his main mission is IMPOSSIBLE since the Ancients died for good…

What makes you so sure? But yes, I agree that Abadd certainly wasn’t meant to create his race of Drones - which would apparently have taken over the world in place of his absent masters - otherwise he’d simply have had the ability to do it and he wouldn’t have had to mess around with Orta.

So essentially: Abadd couldn’t fulfill the actual will of the Ancients, but he tried to carry out their wishes in the best way that he could think of. What he did may or may not have had anything to do with their wishes, as he was just a single Drone trying to work out what to do, when obviously he wasn’t prepared for that eventuality (his masters’ death before they awoke) at all.

I feel like such a failure… :frowning:

it’s ok, you’re still abaddass

:frowning:

I think we can assume that Abadd’s secondary objective was the Anceints’ plan B.I mean why would Abadd have a primary funtion that goes along with TWOTA and a secondary one that goes against it?

Like Al3xand3r said, there was no Plan B. His mission had failed, and there was no way he could fulfil it. He could not accept this, and tried to interpret his objective in a way that would still allow him to complete it.

Abadd’s thoughts are conditioned by the data that was input into him by is masters.

That doesn’t mean Abadd can’t think for himself. He was simply forced to complete his objective, but he tried to do that in his own way.

What was objective was that in your opnion?

Why couldn’t that secondary objective be the work of the Ancients instead of his own mind?

Abadd’s primary objective was the resuscitation of his Ancient masters. We don’t know his secondary objectives or his ultimate goal. However, he never completed any of them, and I think he tried to complete his ultimate goal by creating a new race of drones to rule the world. Why would the Ancients allow their slaves to reproduce when they always tried to avoid this from happening?

They try to avoid it?

If all things failed Drones would prove the Ancients’ existence and it was a way for the Ancients to make their makr in the world.

Abadd’s ultimate goal wasn’t his primary objective??

Abadd’s goal of making the race of Drones definitely wasn’t an intended objective - otherwise (by definition) he’d actually have been equipped to achieve it. The only hope of achieveing it came through Orta (and her ability to reproduce), and how could the Ancients have predicted that she would come into existence ten thousand years into their future? It’s clear that Abadd must have come to his own conclusion on how to fulfill his primary objective when it turned out that his masters were dead.

To get back to the beginning of this thread - the idea of “another empire” already happened.

The Southern Empire took over what was left of the Western Empire we know from the other games in the series - the history books don’t talk about much fighting, but you may notice that they have a very constrained point of view. They were clearly written by the party that won.
