After being re-inspired by the PD likenesses in James Cameron’s Avatar, I’m resuming production on some personal artwork of mine that has strong ties to the rock and armor patterns in PD.
I saw that a number of art books are available, and was wondering whether anybody was hosting scanned copies of these books.
Please send me a PM if you have any information, or would assist me in uploading your files.
You can go to the archived Moonapples site "Lagi: The Artwerk of Panzer Dragoon"
It being an archived site though, it loads slower, and some to a lot of the original content is (seemingly)not availble any longer…sadly
But you never know, we (as a community) could/should argueably just set-up a thread whereas any and all artwork that we’ve amassed could be posted and compiled as a real resource for all.
I mean this site, Will of the Ancients, is the best resource and fan site dedicated to this highly specialized genre that we all enjoy, so why not have more visual aids. I for one would be honoured and humbled to supply both my own personal work, and any artwork that I could still find to this site, if Solo would have it. I have no qualms with drawing up any/many/all of the creatures of the Panzer world to be catalogued.
By all means. I’d be interested in assisting the effort, even if it means simple taks like resizing and rotating scanned JPEGS.
For somebody who owns the books, would you consider them to be plentiful references for an artist looking to study creatures, architecture and vehicles in thr PD world?
Absolutely, I’d love to host more of your work on the site. What did you have in mind specifically, e.g new sections on the site?
Hopefully Lagi will get in touch regarding The Art of Panzer Dragoon soon, as I will gladly host the site… I just need him to send me a copy or upload it himself.
Definitely. Most of the art from The Art of Panzer Dragoon comes from these books. They’re the closest thing you’ll find to a Panzer Dragoon world book.
Solo: I was thinking that we as fans can help you setup an archive either here or a section on your main site to use as reference art.
I could also Draw up creatures that you can use in your database of enemies that you have already established
If you want

Sounds great. Ideally, The Art of Panzer Dragoon will be up again eliminating the problem we have now. However, in a worse case scenario if Lagi doesn’t get in contact, we could look manually archiving all the art and putting it on TWOTA. That’s a fairly large job though, so perhaps we should wait a bit… although in saying that, it was 28/10/2009 when I last heard from Lagi, so it’s not like we haven’t waited already. If someone would like to lead that project, I’d be happy to host the images either as a hosted site with the same layout as The Art of Panzer Dragoon or on TWOTA itself.
Regarding the creation of original art for TWOTA, that would be great. I’d prefer to keep the official encyclopaedia entries and fan art separate, but we might be able to work out some sort of link system between the Creatures section and Fan Art section.
As for the Lagi issue, aye, you might want to see what can be done(it may be a a while till it gets completed but anything would help)
the only art I have is small due to my old HD going down… But I’ll post what I have in a seperate thread, snd that way we can get the ball rolling.
