Good call, my bad. :anjou_embarassed:
As much as I’d like to see another rail shooter, I don’t see much of a market for one unless it came out on a handheld or something.
A real time RPG or adventure game would be the way to go if the game is going to sell. Unfortunately those games are quite expensive to develop, so its debatable whether the risks would be worth it (of course, to us, they would be, but this is looking at it from a buisness perspective).
I’d love to see a developer create a real time, free roaming, Panzer game, but add some sort of unique twist to whatever genre the game was. And, I believe a number of developers could pull it off, so long they understood what Panzer Dragoon is all about.
I would buy it. But it’d be really bad if they took out the Panzerian language and its Japanese feel. Which they would probably do.
Exactly, but then it wouldn’t be a true Panzer game without everything that made the other games unique, such as the language and distinct art style. They could go the Shining Force route and just call it Panzer Dragoon Neo though, and everything will be fine!

i 'm suprised a PANZER DRAGOON game hasn’t appeared on the NDS. I think the style of gameplay could easily lend it self to the NDS’s unique format.
It would depend very much on the developer and how they interpret the Panzer dragoon world, I’m sure we’d be quite dissappointed if they made significant changes to the art style or added some crappy new elements to the world.
Having said that, having a new RPG PD game made by a western developer might be a wondeful breath of fresh air, since the J-RPG has become increasingly stale over the last 10 years and is in a dire situation at the moment.

To be fair Sega are the most refreshing J RPG developers around(when they actually make one themselves).
Sorry, but Panzer Dragoon would SUCK if made by a Western Developer. Why? Well, for one, the artwork to the series is so unique that it can’t be duplicated by other artists - which is one of the reasons why Panzer Dragoon is so damn special. The second reason, is that that the atmosphere can’t be duplicated either - even trying to replicate it would create many unwanted discrepancies. The third, and final reason, would be the music - though every incarnation of the panzer dragoon series has had multiple composers, the music style was finally perfected with Azel - fucking with that would, potentially, destroy the entire house of cards (which was ALMOST done with Orta). Hopefully when we do see a sequel in the future, the music aspect is more in tune with Azel (and hopefully is generated on a chip again, instead of a studio)
