Gaming system? Or paperweight? XD Someone told me it’s not worth it, but I might consider getting one just for Valkyrie Profile and Gurumin.
back to the comp. PSP is worth it. It’s a thousand times better than DS
I disagree, the DS is approximately 126.33 times better than the PSP.
Edit: Thanks for the elaborate rundown of the PSP’s strengths and the DS’ weaknesses. I’m going to go buy one right away. Oh wait, I already do have one and barely play it because there’s a handful of truly great games and they’ve all got controls issues and they’ve all been done better on home consoles (where their style really belongs) in the past
Edit: Yeah, I added that part again though!
I’m afraid I disagree with you there Jenkins. The PSP is approximately 176.056473% better than DS. Now lets take a break for tea and scones.
Edit: I see
Vice City Stories control system is quite good although putting that little analogue stick there was a huge mistake. It is very very uncomfortable for my poor wrists.
Just to throw my penny into the ring: The DS r0x0rz. Sure I wouldn’t buy one because there aren’t enough games that interest me on it, but the ones I do like are fun as hell. Nintendogs ftw. PSP is just a watered down home console in my opinon; there’s nothing different or special about it.
There’s EEE and Lumines!!I might get a PSP in the future…dee deep into the future. Then agehn buying a Sony console is a sin and I already did it once.
For Sega Ages Panzer Dragoon mind you… :anjou_embarassed:
Sega Nomad FTW
I don’t know if it was really successful or not, but the idea of playing genesis games on a portable machine was genius and imo should have sold big
The PSP technically is a very impressive piece of hardware, too bad that they attempted to take a home console and shrink it down to portable size game and control wise, instead of playing to the strengths of being a portable console such as the DS seems to be doing well.

aw come on Sony aren’t that bad. I know its all about opinions and stuff but even me who dislkes the Nintendo and their Wii thinks it isn’t a bad console that has potential somewhere but it’s just not for me.
As a fan of Symphony of the Night, the PSP’s upcoming Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles compilation intrigues me… but… not nearly enough to actually lay down the required cash to purchase the system. I’m not much on portables, but if any could catch my interest it’s the PSP. So we’ll see what happens.
Really, the only way I would get one is if Fumito Ueda (ICO, Shadow of the Colossus) made a title for it. He mentioned a whiiile ago that he wasn’t sure if the next title should be a PSP or PS3 title, but it’s most likely going to be a PS3 title.
There are in fact several people who buy a PSP to exclusively use it as a portable media player.
I think that in itself says something about the thing. XD
It must be pretty sexy if they pay so much just for a media player with little capacity instead of getting an ipod video 30GB for around the same price
Anyway, I’m gonna want to try out Rondo of Blood but I don’t know how good that will be, perhaps it’s too retro by now even with the graphical updates. I don’t care much for the SOTN version included as I played it to death in its time and doubt I will bring myself to complete it again, though I’m curious about the new features it will include. I wonder if they are the same things the Saturn version of the game had, ie the secret garden area and Maria as a playable character with her own set of skills. Perhaps I’d play through it again using her.

I know a guy who just uses it for music. What a waste
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops is awesome though.
I have both. DS because there was a rumour flying around that there would be a new Golden Sun coming out on it and PSP so that I can watch the Daft Punk movie. (OMG. SUCH A GOOD FILM. WATCH IT. THE POWER OF MY CAPITAL LETTERS COMPELS YOU!)
The only game on PSP that I’m interetsed in is Me and My Katamari. I’m not gonna buy a PSP just for one game that I want to play. It’s the same reason why I didn’t buy an XBox. There was only one game on it that I wanted.
There’s way more interesting games on Nintendo DS in my opinion.

Just moved this topic from the Liberal District, as well as all the other gaming related topics that I found.
If anyone sees any other gaming topics or the Liberal or Holy Districts, let me know and I’ll move them.
looks back over my own post from months ago HA. I actually did end up buying a PSP Slim recently, and I have to say that I DO regret it. There are almost no original properties of any kind. The few that do exist are interesting, but not astounding. The library is mostly comprised of ports that, while decent, all seem to possess one or two key flaws that break the deal and make the original (usually PS1) version ideal (Final Fantasy Tactics and Valkyrie Profile come to mind).
I’m probably going to give mine away to somebody who wants one as a Christmas gift, along with my handful of PSP games.
