We are calling it Genos; why?
Wouldn’t new name be more apporpriated?
I mean Genos was KFC’s and SK’s idea…

I’ve considered this, too, as it’s presumably going to have nothing to do with the Genos trailer (except for the fact that the trailer was the excellent inspiration for it). I expect that “Genos” will be the working title for a while, at least until we get more of a confirmed development team together and start work on the project proper.
All of the names from other games never really followed any suit. Zewi is a German word for something… ( I can’t remember.)
Saga was… … … Saga.
And Orta was the name of the main lead character.
If this game really is to follow PD suit, it has to be an interesting name… something else German prehaps? Maybe Japanese this time?
Maybe a foreign word for ‘New’.
German for “Two”. (One of the five German words I know!)

But remember that Saga was originally “Azel” in Japan. So those two games do follow suit - perhaps Genos should eventually be named after its main character?
Perhaps, but can I vote against “Panzer Dragoon Neo” now?
How about “Neu”, the german word for new
How about Panzer Dragoon Quini?
(quini is five in panzerense)
altho this would be the 6th game counting Mini I mean
Scott Panzer Dragoon RPG
cmon name the main character after me!!
er… yeah. Anyways, what was Genos all about? The only time i heard that was from one of the music tracks on Orta.
Panzer Dragoon Iva. Oh wait, nevermind…Iva is dead. hehe.
Altered Genos was the name of PDO’s Episode 2 as well, don’t forget
It’s not a real English word (not a modern one, anyway) but I guessed that it meant “Generations” - as in, the flora and fauna of Episode 2 were the generations (genos) of mutated (altered) life. On the other hand, it could mean “genes”, “genetics”, or something along those lines. Does anybody know for sure?

Actually, it seems that Genos is just a Greek word, which means roughy:
offspring / family / stock / tribe / nation / nationality or descent from a particular people / the aggregate of many individuals
So I was more or less right with the “generations” idea.
Genos is a Greek word. It means “kind” or “Type” or “Race” and other such similar things…
Example: Orta comes from the genos of Edge and the Genos of Azel.
It’s a bit vague but I hope u get the idea on how the word could be used…
Panzer Dragoon Traum
Heh
Feel free to use http://dict.leo.org/?lang=en if you want to give it a german name.
The first idea was to call it “Edge” because the original name of “Panzer Dragoon Saga” is “Azel - Panzer Dragoon RPG”.
But a real new game would not refer as much to another one because of the new audience you have to reach.
Orta means something like “dawn” or “beginning” right? So If this game is situated in the period after PD Saga (the Great fall) maybe a word that illustrates what happens before dawn would be appropriate. Something like nightfall or dusk but translated into Greek, Latin, German or Panzerese. Panzer Dragoon Skiad perhaps?
Panzer Dragoon Nacht?
(Night is before dawn, so…)
I dunno.
Genos sounds like a pretty good name, and applicable in meaning too.
Maybe the next Panzer game should have an English title, even?
Genos is out of the question imo.
Maybe a codename would be more appropriate. After the plot is settle, and only then, should we try and get a name.
If only there was a single word in the panzerese vocabulary that meant “embodiment of evil”, or something. That would make a great name for an official future title.
“Damn it”.
