Hi,
Im new to this forum(hello!) and ive noticed that in the topics people speak with certainty that the dragon in the 4 panzers were all the same one, has this been confirmed by an official source?
When I first played PD Zwei, I hadnt played any of the other panzer games and I perceived the ending like this:
Lagi sees that there are far too many monsters coming out of Shelcoof for them to kill and uses his power to float Lundi to safety. He then flys up to the ship and self destructs to destroy shelcoof. Lundi wakes up and investigates shelcoof to see an engraving of lagi on the wall that glows with lagi’s green light. This engraving is certainly Lagi as it changes depending on what form you are when you complete the game. This either means it was created by Lagi or someone foresaw him destroying Shelcoof.
Although there does appear to be evidence that the dragons are one and the same, is there any official word that Lagi did survive the encounter with Shelcoof? More evidence suggesting he died comes from PDS. When the light wing accesses the engraving of Lagi in shelcoof, a baby dragon comes out and follows you around, almost identical to the baby dragon left behind after the death of Orta;s dragon. This suggests that the baby dragon in shelcoof was left behind after the death of lagi.
Another thing in the Zwei ending that i do not understand is Lundi’s final words “After all this, I still have him”. This seems inexplicable, Lundi certainly didnt have Lagi in the ending movie.
One last(irrelevant) thing. Did anyone else notice a picture of Azel in the Zwei ending movie in Orta’s pandora’s box? I dont remember that being in the saturn version although I could be wrong.
A lot of issues here, any thoughts would be appreciated.
I’ve red your thoughts and you are almost 100% correct. However you are wrong when you say that the baby dragon is proof that Lagi died.
After destroying Shelcoof Lagi was drained of all his powers and he put himself in a crest where he could rest.
Lundi says : “After all this HE IS STILL WITH ME” which means that the memory of his friend Lagi will remain forever in his heart.
And I don’t know exactly if all dragons are the same : the one at the begining of Saga appears to be a different one but he then merges with the baby dragon which is Lagi in a new body.
Now the dragon in Orta is kind of a mistery cause we don’t know the crest from which it came so I think it his Lagi.
Oh and that image of Azel was only put in Orta so you are not allucinating
The Zwei endings are among my favourite topics of discussion. First, I assume you’ve seen the true ending (the one played after defeating the final boss as the armoured blue dragon that shows up in Panzer Dragoon)? 18 years after the destruction of the skyship in Zwei Lagi takes to the skies again with a “new” rider to fight the Dark Dragon in Panzer Dragoon and his assorted minions.
All the dragons seen thus far are the same entity: Lagi.
Shelcoof blew up because you took out three of its six forward wings, I believe. Lagi didn’t need to do much else other than ensure that the ship sank (so to speak).
Now as for the modified Zwei ending in PD Orta, it is either the uncut original version of that ending, or an FMV sequence that was later modified for the benefit of curious fans. In those endings we see just what it is Lundi is meant to be seeing (he’s experiencing a mind warping vision imparted to him by the dragon), though we, as the player, only catches glimpses. Obviously, Lundi saw Azel which became part of the reason he later researched drones.
This has been discussed before multiple times, I believe that the end of it was that a group of people believe that Lagi “saved” his Zwei dragon forms as “baby dragon” for later use and another group believe that the baby and the Zwei dragon forms in saga are just a game bonus from the developers to the fans.
I belong to the latter group. To support the theory, even if you get that dragon form the FMV before sestren shows Lagi in the previous form hinting that the Solo wing is story irrelative…Team Andromeda wasn’t one to rush things like that, just look how many different endings Zwei has just to have every dragon form possible in it…Also the baby doesn’t quite fit in either, it’s not like Lagi duplicated himself in order to acquire those forms later but I suppose it could be…
Imho it’s the latter…a game bonus irrelative to the story.
In every history section/timeline/anythin like these that has been released it’s stated clearly that Lagi did all three journeys we have seen in the three games…well now four.
There probably wasn’t enough room on the fourth disc of Panzer Dragoon Saga for those extra videos. We know that they did happen because those dragon forms were playable… Edge even says when you get the Solo Wing: “Now Sestren faces winged death”. Also the Light Wing was part of the story; there were Ancient records about it. The baby dragon was probably Lagi’s cloned son (there is in game hint about that) but we don’t know for sure.
