A brand-new playable demo of Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Remake is now available as part of Steam Next Fest!
In this hands-on preview, you get to experience the second stage of the game and try out two distinct Dragon evolution forms. It’s the perfect opportunity to try the updated visuals, refined gameplay, and enhanced atmosphere of this legendary rail shooter!
Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Remake is a refreshed edition of the second entry in the legendary rail shooter series, taking you into a unique world where ancient ruins, imperial power, and mysterious creatures shape the fate of an entire continent.
Step into the role of Jean Jacque Lundi, a young rider who, together with his extraordinary companion – a dragon named Lagi – embarks on a dangerous journey filled with battles, discoveries, and the secrets of ancient civilizations.
The gameplay remains a classic on-rail shooter – fast-paced combat where you strike down enemies with both Lundi’s gun and Lagi’s devastating lasers. With the Berserk Attack at your disposal, even the toughest encounters may turn in your favor.
Just finished a few playthroughs of it. I actually enjoyed it and am looking forward to the final release.

I enjoyed the demo too, and have logged over 7 hours into it already. The demo has definitely improved over the TGS build, however it still needs quite a bit of refinement before I would consider it ready for release. Hopefully they will take the time to implement the feedback and polish things more before the full release to avoid the situation with the first remake where it received a lot a negative reviews initially before the later patches fixed things. I’d hate to see the game review bombed.
There is a long list of bugs, particularly around how the targeting and reticle behave, that are being documented on Discord. Over the last few months (and in the demo patches over the last few days) there have been notable improvements.
The art direction notably has shifted in a closer direction to the original since TGS (even some aspects of it are not quite what us core fans would hope for). You can tell from the demo that they have taken the fan feedback into account here, since that’s something @Lagi_Webmaster and others emphasised a lot when the TGS build was demoed. It is a smaller budget game, so I’m keeping my expectations realistic when it comes to the graphics and animations overall.
I am optimistic that the final game will be released in a better state that it is now, I just hope that it is enough to provide a worthy alternative to a game with the calibre that is Panzer Dragoon Zwei, particularly the levels that we haven’t seen yet.

Totally agree. It’s a shame that SEGA abandoned the series a remake from SEGA will have been a dream come true anyway at least iam happy that the game exists it’s in us know to give the most accurate feedback to the developers (at least they seems to hear us) regarding the gameplay. For the graphics iam totally fine since it’s not a triple A game if they manage the gameplay to be close to the original then it’s ok
