Panzer Dragoon Orta. Memory Cells. Explain

Geoff: It doesn’t matter if there is a capital A or not.If in the future some said that their masters were the American would you believe them to be all alike?

I think the rebels were from the same race and from the same society.

I mean if they were from another society they wouldn’t eb called rebels.

Would those Ancients really be able to afford the time and resources to build such structures (the Towers) all over the world in the middle of such a huge scale war though Lance? Especially if the other faction(s) were (almost) equal in power?

… And yet again, good old Orta has created a monster.

yup.

Don’t worry Orta, it’s quite a good monster

The thing is, it would seem even stranger (to me) if the Towers were built in peacetime. The Towers had two distinct (but related) functions: repairing the environment and manufacturing monsters. Now repairing the environment would make sense for a post-war project, but the massive production of monsters would not. After all, the “monsters” of the Ancient Age were the combined soldiers and weapons with which the ancinet wars were fought. That alone points to the fact that these wars were still going on.

As far as I can make out, a Tower would simply by a massive sentinel that would protect the surrounding region from its creators’ enemies. The Tower would maintain the environment, and stop it from becoming devastated by the ongoing wars. At the same time it would produce legions of monsters with which to protect the area from invasion.

The Towers were built to cleanse the land of “impurities” and then rebuild it to acomodate the Ancients.

It really depends on how much time did this war last.

Perhaps my theory in my previous post is correct in some ways and the creation of those towers along with their plan to obliterate/terraform the planet and save themselves only was what caused the conflicts with the rest factions…

The problem is what are they trying to obliterate.

For me it’s either :

the rebels themselves (obviously non-related with what Al3x just said)

some type of creature who is getting far too dangerous

My last post was reffering to my previous theory which mentions the terraforming process needs the prior total annihilation of the planet. As well as that, the humans which were the reason that the planet was dieing on first place would be nearly wiped out as well. Same for the factions that were not part of the Ancients’ plan.

But are Ancients human or not?

In your opnion I mean.

Humans or not I consider them the leading faction of the planet in the Ancient Age. Either a totally new faction or just “higher ranks” of humans (kind of like the Emperor is for the Empire for example)
I tend to think of them as humans more but we still have no proof of it so I won’t say for sure

Panzer Dragoon Saga clearly states that the Ancients were human. The japanese dialogue was a little more vague about… everything, but this is official enough to count.

In my version of the story the rebellion consisted of Ancients and non-Ancients. Azel was the pinnacle of drone technology with the possibility of achieving free will, designed by an Ancient who took her with him when he changed sides. Whatever her original mission was, the rebel base was attacked by Ancient forces and the Excavation Site is what is left of it.

Maybe the rebellion started when they found out about the resuscitation program. Saving only a selected group is not making you very popular.
