Looks quite good from the screenshots. I bought Grandia 2 for my Dreamcast and I enjoyed its battle system quite a bit, although I thought the storyline could’ve been better. Overall it was a pretty decent game though.
Were Grandia 1 and 2 (and Xtreme) related at all, storywise? I never got around to trying the first game since it didn?t get translated for the Saturn, and I?ve never owned a Playstation…
At least they’ve got mouths in Grandia 3.
Xtreme was just a dungeon crawling spinoff with no real connection story wise, I believe Grandia 1 and 2 are connected somehow.
The Grandia series follows the Final Fantasy formula; each game has familiar themes, but are stand alone stories.
I bought my Dreamcast for Grandia 2, too, so I might keep an eye on this.
Is it just me, or does Grandia 3 seem a lot less colourful than Grandia 2?
Grandia 3 definitely seems more watered down than the previous one which was one of the most colorful games on Dreamcast second only to Skies of Arcadia.
I really didn’t like Grandia 2- Grandia 1 was a beautiful fun game - the color they introduced in Grandia 2 and I’m happy it is gone … buy Grandia 1 if you have a a PS2 - even if you only paly the first couple of areas, you will see how fun it is- it is really a sequel in many ways to Lunar …
I’ve only played Grandia II, which had a fun battle system, but a somewhat lackluster story. If the story has improved this time around I might give it a go.
