For anyone interested, I think this is the best showcase of the controller’s abilities yet: gamespot.com/e3/e3story.html … pid=928517
Don’t just read the page, scroll down to the bottom and view the “Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Gameplay Movie 1” video. Good stuff.
Shit, Al3x, I was asking a genuine question, no need to jump up and down on my opinions like that. Just as you obviously get tetchy for people having ignorant blasts at Nintendo, so do I about the “Great Evils of Sony”.
Sorry, I thought TA was saying what you said there. Change all the “you are” into “he is” and all the “you say” into “he says” etc… Sorry for the misunderstanding
well actually, i think that (switching dpad position) was quite a major breakthrough, it made FPS on consoles excellent.
The NiGHTS pad first positioned the dpad and analogue like that, and adding another on the right was a great idea.
And if Nintendo want to keep the image of being innovative and sony copying them, they shouldn’t make a controller that is just like the PS pad
I hope they switch the dpad and left analogue
… Duh, you clearly didn’t read the whole discussion. He’s saying Nintendo copied the twin sticks and I’m saying that Microsoft has copied it just as much but nobody cared a few years back. Changing the position of one of the two sticks a little doesn’t make such a difference AND it’s copied from another console as well (Saturn 3D pad, DC pad - which weren’t copies).
And once again, that is a CLASSIC PAD meant for PRE-Wii games, what kind of innovation can you fit in OLD TITLES? And once again, all the accessories shown were prototypes showing the possibilities, as much work in progress as the PS3 silver banana shown initially.

Becasue M$ or X-Box fans don’t go around Pretending M$ are so original and everybody else copies their ideas .
Tell me this much where did NCL get the idea of Memory Cards , Where did NCL get the idea for Twin sticks, Where did NCL get the idea for the Bongos , where did NCl get the idea for analogue triggers Where did NCl get the idea of having an in build clock system :P, Where did NCL get the ieda to link up a handheld to a console ;
Omg, in built clock?! What an amazing gameplay enhancing feature… Omg, bongos, I guess they got the idea from… real life bongos?! Just like Sega got the idea from real-life whatever-those-were? You think? Memory cards?! Omg you can save your games… Really, nobody should be allowed to do that these days except for whoever did it first… Etc…
…You are simply bringing up incredibly stupid points simply because you hate Nintendo for whatever reason… Maybe they killed your dog or something - buy a new one. They are doing something innovative you have nothing to counter it with and so you bash two things:
a) ancient matters when you run out of things to say
b) extra accessories which nobody claimed are innovative and CAN’T BE INNOVATIVE since they are meant for PRE-Wii games and ARE PROTOTYPES SHOWING POSSIBILITIES

Play Chritsmas NiGHTS to see the effect the clock can have onthe game . I was on Removable memory cards for which SNK were miles in front for everybody else and is probably the most used ripped ?off ideas this side of the D-Pad .
If you were any sort of NCl fan you know NCL got the Bongoos idea for NAMCO and for good measure had them make the game too
Lastly NCl did not kill my Dog old age did, What NCL made your’s ? If not don;'t take what I say to heart .
BTW, Sorry to break the dream Japanese do what they do best, take somebody else idea and make it better . Next you be telling me NCl gave us videogames
I never said I was a Nintendo fan, I haven’t owned any console they made other than the original grey game boy. I was simply countering your silly points. Nintendo is doing something innovative with the Wii and because you have nothing to say against that (other than “it’s useless” or similar) you bring up out of nowhere discussions about the analogue stick, about bongos, about whatever you can think of for absolutely no reason. You were the one that brought all that up out of nowhere not me.
Can we go back to the initial thing you bashed? The classic pad, you said it’s not innovative and it’s a rip off. Well, Nintendo didn’t claim it’s innovative, no Nintendo fan said it’s innovative, nobody here said it’s innovative. It’s not meant to be innovative, it’s not a main selling point of the console, and it’s meant to play pre-Wii games thus it CAN’T be innovative as all it is is an alternative to the Gamecube pad for those who don’t have one but still want to play its games on the Wii. And once again it’s a prototype and not a working design which is why it was just in a display case alongside the lightgun shell prototype and other things.
The default Wii controller IS innovative, Nintendo is doing things noone else has done before for this generation and a stupid classic pad for pre-wii games won’t change that no matter how badly you complain about it.
Now, please don’t start talking about clocks or bongos or whatever you can think of out of nowhere in an attempt to lead the conversation in circles, round and round, until people get too tired of replying to the same crap.
But the Wii Pad isn’t that innovative . back in 1993 a Corp was making a 3D version of BreakOut with a control that not only looked much the same , it did the same sort of thing.
Right now onthe PS2 GameTreck as a device that does much the same thing too , only with wires.
I’ll give NCL somecredit they got balls to do what they doing . But looking at Mario its seems to add nothing to make the gamplay better thats the most worrying part
Like I said, please don’t lead the conversation in circles whenever it suits you. I guess I’ll quote myself to reply to your once again pointless… point… thing…
No it’s not the first time we see tilt, no it’s not the first time we hear of motion sensitive things, I didn’t say Nintedo invented the technology from scratch and nobody else said that either.

Hey look I need to say sorry for going over a top and the posts looking a bit hostile at you, for that I sorry.
I just hate it, that is likes NCL are saints and nobody can question thier moves
