Lost Planet features some panzer looking stuff

obviously it has its own style and is influenced by a lot of stuff, but I wonder if they were looking at Panzer for some influence …

That’s the Arc de Triomphe as seen in Paris. >.>;; Nothing Panzer Dragoon about that. I think you’re looking a wee bit too far into it with several of them really.

I agree about the buildings but all of the creatures are very Panzerish even if they don’t look like something we’ve seen in Sega’s series already.

Don’t you mean Arch of Titus?

I think if you look back at PD1 you see just how influenced it is by the West- Greek / Roman / Venetian Architecture, where the other ones have more Asian / Middle East.

That first building you go into in PD1 (with the ceiling that falls) is absolutely Roman.

But yeah the arch is a stretch.

To the point, you could say it is more Western themed than Panzer influenced, although something about playing the levels feels very Panzerish- some of it is the way they are buried- a lost civilization.

That one I was pointing out as Mechania- the layout is very similar- a sprawling valley of walls with some arches, etc. Really doesn’t exist in real life and is very close to what is in PD2.

Hey I heard Crazy Frog Racer has some panzerish stuff in it. You’re on a rail!!! But its a race track instead!!!

Damn those copycat french. o:

And well, I haven’t played the game yet so you’ve got a better way of knowing how Panzerish it feels than I do. =D

Oh I agree, and people seem to forget that Panzer it’s self used A lot of references from other games, films and so on . Lost Planet used more from StarShip Troopers (the film) and Gun Valkyrie in my view too. It can also be great complement to the staff , I remember playing Thunder Force V and taking great pride in that Technosft were obviously massive fans of Zwei , as one of the stages was a direct copy of Zwei Ep3 enven to the point of having the EP3 boss swinging in the tree?s

That said what Lost Planet does show is what the Orta Team could Achieve on the 360 Hardware , and just how good a Panzer Dragoon could look on the system . I hope one day we?ll find out

I’m glad someone said that because that’s what i was thinking when i played LP. Considering GUN VALKRYIE was basically Sega’s Metroid game(And a very good answer to it) and to some degree LP is too, i wish nintendo could actually design a metroid game themselves since Prime approch is getting tired now.

I was wondering myself if anyone from Smilebit jumped ship to Capcom …

I was thinking that :anjou_embarassed: . Thats said its what the Japanese do best, take someone else?s idea and make it better and cheaper (I mean that in a nice way) . One plays Sapphire and then Radiant Silver Gun and there?s many similarities, same goes for Y?s and Lunar. I was looking at Rogue Galaxy the other day , and that brought back memories of Skies Of Arcadia
