Life is Strange: True Colors

The upcoming third mainline Life is Strange is coming out later this year, from the developer of the prequel Before the Storm. I’ve played all of the games in the series and enjoyed them; if you like narrative driven games, they’re some of the best.

The Ultimate Edition looks like a good starting point if you want to get into the series, since it will include remastered versions of Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm.

Have you played what remains of Edith Finch Solo?.
That game is amazing and so well scripted. The Halloween and end sections are incredible

I have played Edith Finch, there’s even a topic about it. I don’t remember the story too well, so it might be time for a replay.

Have you played any of the Life is Strange games?

No, I missed out on them but will now look to play them. It’s only thanks to a recommendation from a friend that I even played Edith Finch after she was going on about how amazing the last section of the game was. To her credit, it really was too, utterly amazing ending

I finally played True Colors in early 2026. While the story wasn’t to same calibre as Life is Strange 1 and 2, I did enjoy setting and characters, along with the emotion aura mechanic that distinguishes it from the previous games.

The remasters that come with the deluxe edition are a nice way of revisiting the Chloe/Max storyline, although the upgrade in visuals was at least in part due to playing these on better hardware, so I can’t say if it’s worth it without going back to the older versions to compare them. There are two more games continuing that branch of the story that I’ll get around to playing at some point.
