Intenet problem.... grrrrrrrrrrrr
Try running these two programs: CWShredder and Ad Aware.

If Norton doesn’t catch it, these two might.
As well as Spybot: Search and Destroy.

EDIT: D’oh, that’s spyware only, duh >.<

Not to create a enw topic (and sorry Scott for not beeing able to help you myself) but can anyway name a free firewall that i can download somewhere?

On a side note: My father works for EDP - the biggest electricity company in Portugal - and today their computers were attacked by a certain virus. My dad was pissed!

Yeah there’s a free version of Zone Alarm on their site (I mentioned the url above).

yeah zonealarm i’ve heard is pretty good

Why would it be dangerous? i’m not gonna do it while the PC is on or anything >_>

Anyways i’m off to do it now - wish me luck!

Spybot: Search and Destroy managed to miss a whopping 249 files on my mate’s computer. I ran ad-aware on it (it searches for spyware as well) and it found a crapload of spyware.

you HAVE to use adaware and spybot together. It gives the best results that way, spybot misses things adaware catches, and vice versa.

Anyways no luck with my situation as my friends don’t have SATA slots :’( (the slots my hard drive takes)

oh well i need to figure out my my IDE hard drive won’t work with this comp.

Yay! Another one who has seen the light!

You can get cases for your internal harddrives that turn them into external harddrives that then plug into a USB port. Useful for transferring data between different machines with having to open them up.

Just get a new hard drive it saves more time, and plus, you would not have to suffer so much.

i think that its all gone now!!! What a mission. I used my old hdd to access the comp and deleted the files, then i made dummy fiels of the trojan and deleted the registry keys. Then i re installed my antivirus and i think everythings ok now!

thats for the pic chuck, it spurred me on  and the systamtec scanner arcus gave me. Thanks again everyone

Well, that sure was tough for you eh?

well, once i logged on to normal mode after safe mode and my background had suddenly changed to something i’ve never seen before. that shocked me. Hopefullys its all over now

Thank Christ it’s over!!

I bet you’ve learned your lesson now, eh Scott? 8)
